    I don't have too. Thats the Coaches job. I don't have the background he does. Management knew the risks they were taking by putting Gadj on waivers. Aren't Petan and Chiasson on PTO anyway? They are place holders for injured players.

    This SUUUCKS! But its a sign of a team on the rise. When you have to risk losing quality, it means there is a lot of quality on the roster.

    Hutton has a really fun vibe to him. Like Schmidt a bit that way. Which I think helped the team during the darkest years of the rebuild, now its all business. A few Captain Serious types on the team now. He will probably help the Ducks as they don't look like they will be all that good this year.

    Bo will be 31 in 5 years. Still a serviceable player, but he’s the foundation of this core. The time is soon to really push.

    Exactly. Some ways I’d prefer it. Build a juggernaut and really go for it. assets be darned. Get a cup.

    I’m actually ok with 5 years. Yes he could walk at UFA. However to maximize his return he’d be hella motivated the next 5 years. 5 years from now the Canucks will need a rebuild. The core will be aging out. Cheaper deal for less years is ok by me. Just win a cup before I die.

    Really weird anomaly I just found. I went to Playnow to bet on the Canucks to win the cup (bound to work someday) and you can't choose the Canucks. They are the only team, listed at 46:1 odds, that you cannot bet on. I wonder if the betting sites are waiting on EP and QH to sign before taking bets. Super weird.

    Both writers convinced me to never sign up to the Athletic. Pessimistic and "nasty nice" about the team they are supposed to cover and support. JB had a great off season. Getting QH and EP to sign solid deals will push it from great to epic. The team is going to be significantly better.

    I think this is the scenario; They don’t have a third, so the offer would have to be over $10.5+, which is 4 1st round picks. Which Montreal can’t do without moving salary out.

    I hear what you're saying, but I'd hate if this type of a scenario goes down. Petey is up there with: Naslund, Bure, Linden, Sedins, as one of the best talents this club has ever had. His re draft he goes 1st Overall with Makar as 2nd. So rare to find a player with his skills AND a winning attitude outside of the top 3.
