I remember how the Sedins were perceived as “soft” by a lot of the other fanbases. Those guys made their living, and HOF careers, along the boards and below the circles in the offensive zone. They would get punished, just brutalized by the opponent, but never cowered away from the hard areas of the ice. Aside from Hoglander & Miller, is there a single player on this team that’s willing to get black & blue to score a goal for this team? Hard no

Trevor Linden was a great captain. Nicest guy off the ice, played a real hard clean game on it. He stuck up for his teammates, led by example. Who can forget the 2 goal effort in game 7 of the ‘94 SCF (with a severe rib injury) or hammering Jeff Norton through the glass the next year?

Ive always liked Bo, but Miller should be captain. He plays with fire & passion. Horvat is losing me. He pretty much symbolizes how passive this team has become. No hatred for the opponent, just a friendly game of pond hockey on a sunny afternoon.

You’d think they’d be playing mad throwing hits etc to get out their frustration
I mean what do they got to lose at this point
That would require effort or giving a $&@$

I kid you not, my men’s league team plays with more passion than the Canucks do

Happy trails Travis. This team is completely hopeless the way it is right now

I miss Willie Desjardins.
Really Guud!
I miss Tortorella! At least he has passion, multiple Jack Adams awards and a Stanley Cup!

Haha, Vancouver is stunning, I’d love to go sometime. My wife is from Pittsburgh and it’s actually a pretty nice city. It’s not industrial really at all anymore, it’s actually pretty nice and picturesque with all the rivers surrounding it. I love my wife more than anything and so I’m trying to embrace it

Me too.
I live in Pittsburgh so I’d probably get behind the Pens. I’m a Canucks fan, but living in western PA you kind of take an interest in the local team. Their history is so rich with success and achievement, very different from the Canucks. Some world class superstars like Mario, Jagr, Crosby & Malkin don’t hurt either!

40 pts, 12-15 goals

Hindsight is 20/20, Vancouver took a shot at Pavel Bure in 1989, Brian Burke pulled a rabbit out of a hat with the Sedins in 1999, Schneider for Horvat wasn’t bad in 2013. Vancouver has blown A LOT of picks, passing on Tkachuk and drafting Virtanen were critical mistakes. But as Billy Beane said in Moneyball, you don’t know, it’s an educated guess, there is no crystal ball…especially when they’re drafted at 18. Some guys have huge red flags, but others? It’s so subtle a lot of scouts & GMs flat out miss it

If you really want to send a message to the owner, stop coming to the games, don’t support the advertisers. If he won’t change anything, gotta affect the bottom line to force a change.
I don’t think it’ll come to that, I believe Green is 100% on the ropes, Benning isn’t far behind

Hirsch seems certain the problem lies in the locker room. My question is would the “alpha dogs” follow a coach they respect? If it’s JT Miller he’s talking about, I’m pretty sure management is going to keep the team’s leading scorer over a coach with a career losing record. Dan Bylsma had a Cup in Pittsburgh, but was fired apparently because Crosby & Malkin stopped listening & the team followed. I know JT isn’t at those guys’ level, but are you going to fire a subpar coach or trade your leading scorer? Doesn’t seem like a terribly difficult decision to me

Anyone describing anything about this game as "love" needs to be gone
A 7-4 loss is a 7-4 loss is a 7-4 loss. Anything is much better than the 7-1 slaughter to the Avs that was one of the Canucks’ worst games in years. He’s got to be gone

He’s right about a couple calls, Demko did break the rule though. Green has no answers left, he’s grasping at straws and making excuses. His seat is nuclear hot right now

I know nobody wants to hear it, but Demko did push it off on purpose, which by letter of the law is a penalty.

I've actually been arguing that ever since after his first season here. He's got the right personality to be that cancer guy in the room the way he sulks and argues with his teammates during the game. When somebody is that negative during a struggle it can really kill a team's vibe.
Could there be cliques in the room too?

It almost seems inevitable that Green is fired after the road trip. I always cheer for my team to win, but I kind of hope Anaheim hangs 5 on us tomorrow. Just to put no doubt in ownership’s mind. This can not continue, you’re going to start losing fans, and in big numbers.

Goodbye Travis best of luck

16 goals against last 3 games. 0 PP goals for, 5 PP goals against. If anyone can defend the coaching staff at this point, I would love to hear it

Petey is playing like Messier. Make me....I don't care since I'm getting paid the most here.
Except Mess had 6 Stanley Cups, two Hart Trophies, a Conn Smythe and was 36 and a ton of miles on that body. A warrior that was past his prime. Pettersson is like 23 and has a Calder but his game is completely falling off a cliff
