Garland and Hogz are effective because they can SKATE, same with Hughes. So many of our players look seriously slow.

I mean this is just too easy for the opposing PP. Game after game after game. Every Canucks game follows almost an identical script. They have to do something to shake the team up, if they refuse to fire anyone, you’ve got to make a significant trade to try to get some chemistry out there. Because yikes this is bad

If we lose the rest of the games on the home stand, the Rangers win most likely won’t matter, Green will probably lose his job

Playing from behind every.single.game gets really old

What a game. Great win. Nice to finally get our first home win under our belt. Garland was a beast tonight with a pair of assists. Miller too with a pair of goals including the GWG. Huggy Bear set up Miller for the OT game winner and he did the rest. Demko was unbelievable especially late in the 3rd when there was chaos and he had to play without a glove for a moment. Let’s get the next one boys! GCG!
The stars of the game were all American born players. Next game the Canucks should skate out to Hulk Hogan’s theme song “Real American”

Remember that quote Sean Connery makes in the Rock, the one about “losers whine about their best, winners go home and kiss the prom queen!” I sanitized the quote for CDC, but it’s 100% accurate with the Canucks. Nobody cares about moral victories, you’re paid millions of dollars to win hockey games, period.

I wonder if Travis is thinking “I wonder if my resume should be single-spaced or double-spaced?”

I don’t think Wayne Gretzky circa 1985 could help this PP

So let's summarize Green's coaching strategy.
1. Play dump and chase and never send in more than 1
2.Stay back protect the tie.
3.Play boring hockey .
3.Have a $&!#ty pk and terrible pp and lose the game on that difference.
Repeat over and over and over and over and over and over.
Hey, that’s a good team over there, it’s hard to win in this league. Haha sorry about the “Green-isms” but you’ve gotta have a sense of humor about how bad we are right now

Shesterkin is killing it this year for the Rangers. Man that team had a quick turnaround.
Gallant, pretty good coach & they have some very good young players along with the aforementioned good goaltender. Gallant was available last year too

I think we’ve run into a hot goalie
When it’s said as often as Canucks fans say it, I don’t think the problem is the opposing goaltender

Remember when it was the Sedins, Kesler, Erhoff & Salo?? You just knew any opportunity could be a goal. Now you just pray they don’t give up a SHG, how sad is that?

For what? Clearing the crease? The zebras clearly don’t like him.
In this instance you’re probably right, but he was in the box for the goal against, rightly or wrongly it hurt the team

JT Miller, instead of passing or shooting, tries to stick handle through 2 guys, turns the puck over & it leads to a goal against. Is anyone really surprised at this point?
-
Man, Tyler Myers has never done much except frustrate me to no end

I keep hearing in the Green pressers how “these guys hate losing.” Really? A lot of their play says otherwise. I’m sure they don’t like being on the wrong end of the score, but collectively, is it simply unacceptable to them? I’m not seeing that. Every race to the puck, every board battle, it has to be to win it like your life depends on it. Outside of 2 or 3 guys, I’m seeing 85-90% effort, that’s just not good enough

If we go 1-6, or even 0-7 on this home stand, could Travis Green possibly be fired at the end of it?
-
Man you can just see the lack of confidence, the insecurity with a lot of our important players. Not assertive at all. That to me is on the coach & the leadership on this team. It’s their job to empower these guys. They have to pick each other up & support each other, the only way out is through

The Detroit & Buffalo losses were inexcusable. Their response in Buffalo should’ve been 100x different. They should’ve been livid with losing to the Wings, ready to go out and just bury Buffalo. That ugly loss told me everything about the Canucks’ character & mindset so far in 2020-21

On SN650, they keep reiterating that American Thanksgiving is the point where the team will truly be evaluated internally. The “it’s not good enough, but it’s still only 9 games in” mentality. While I understand that thought process and businesses do typically run that way, if a change needs to be made now, for heaven’s sake make it now.
The Blackhawks fired Denis Savard early in the 2008-09 season, only 4 games in. The team then went on to make the playoffs and made it all the way to the conference final. The next year they went all the way.
I think the thought is, “let’s not do anything impulsive or rash.” I’d agree if it was Green’s 2nd year, it’s year 5! This is supposed to be a year where the Canucks move the needle and progress. They’re still spinning their wheels and look like the Canucks of 3 years ago.
Why wait until game 20-25 when the season could already be lost? If a change needs to happen to turn this thing around, make the change! There’s still time & it’s not too late. But it might be too late in 3 weeks.

Skated into the ground & pushed around. Man we are so easy to play against. I honestly think a coaching change would barely help. Edmonton just seems substantially better at everything

I know! Those guys in their rookie seasons could absolutely rifle a puck. Now I don’t even know who these guys are![:( :(](//content.invisioncic.com/Mnhlcanucks/emoticons/default_sad.png)
