      Benning didn't raise any alarm bells with respect to the unfair Luongo recapture BS because he knows it would get him nowhere.  The power in the league lies with OTHER teams (not named the Canucks).

       

      Funny how Kovalchuk penalty (his cap circumvention contract) the league gave New Jersey was 'lessened' when he "retired" yet he mysteriously shows up in the NHL a few years later.

       

      But maybe I just am wearing a tin foil hat....though it's not like it's not without reason.

      For league corruption  just have to look at the hits that changed Sven Baertchi and Andrew Alberts lives forever.

      @coastal.view is right. It's an easy situation to blame the league but Luongo was the one that held all the cards. So far the league has not put up much of a fight when it comes to LTIR. Most professional athletes have at least some chronic ailments which they can cite to retire while collecting the rest of their paycheck. If Luongo's LTIR had not gotten approved then we could claim some sort of conspiracy.
