  1. they said in plain english they prefer younger players over draft picks and would be retooling not rebuilding. no more selective listening.
  2. the problem is, like the person you're quoting alluded to, people on the internet criticising the decision making of the paid professionals always forget that their plans are largely dictated by the plans of 31 other management teams around the league and you have to work around that. you can't just execute a plan as you see fit.
  3. when they traded their captain, leading goal-scorer and longest-serving player.
  4. I like lazar's personality and he showed flashes of spark, but ultimately not enough. I'm indifferent.
  5. you have a logical basis to disagree with the direction, but no logical basis to expect a different one.
  6. I'm puzzled by the confusion. allvin is doing exactly as he said he intended. this is the same as when benning took over and everybody was confused by the direction then when he did exactly what he said what he was going to also. I think people are just confused when things don't follow the script they want and expect it to, even when they have no logical basis for expecting it.
  7. if your window isn't opening when your best players are in their mid-late twenties (latest), the window won't be opening for that group.
  8. I'm along for the ride and have been for over 30 years. it's not about the end result for me, it's about the story. and you can't build around petey and hughes through the draft, a) because they aren't interested and b) because it won't work, they'll age out before the team is ready.
  9. I agree on the likely origin of the directive; I don't necessarily view it as a problem.
  10. they'll use the strategy until they fire this group at the least, more likely until the team has a new owner.
  11. being in denial doesn't get anybody anywhere. embrace the ride. this management group got the job by pitching francesco on a plan to build around 40 and 43. to do that, you need players that are ready to compete in the playoffs over the next 3 years. they've said all along they intend to retool, not rebuild, and prefer young players over draft picks. even if this is not your preferred strategy, this WILL be the strategy the team is using moving forward. accept it.
  12. yeah, they've been shouting it from the rooftops since they got to town, but all the vancouver fans and media seem to have their fingers jammed in their ears saying "lalalalala I can't hear you lalala".
  13. if "they" do, "they" have never cracked a dictionary.
  14. whatever your opinion may be, this shouldn't be new information.
  15. miller wouldn't have played last night if there was still a chance.
  16. subtract a pont per game player so you have cap space to add ... ?
