  1. the problem with jake is that you can't unlearn being a meathead.
  2. leipsic's "worst crew ever" assessment feels truer and truer all the time. how long before jake is slangin' for the red scorpions?
  3. if allvin could pull it off it would buy him a lot of good will with fans.
  4. wait until you find out what happened a week later, though ...
  5. you're right, but he better get prepared. he's front and centre in the fishbowl now.
  6. pettersson, when asked about his relationship with miller, admitted they've had disagreements on the ice in the past but stated that miller is a teammate he respects and enjoys playing with and there is no issue at all going forward. @stawns has taken that to mean that pettersson will demand out if miller isn't moved, because that's @stawns.
  7. miller seems like he took more of a discount coming off a 99 pt season.
  8. referring to their sex and/or gender in a context where it's utterly irrelevant is already being sexist, so you don't really need to worry about how it comes across. by the way, why do derek clancey, dale tallon and ryan johnson get a pass with you? or are they among the "chipmunk girls"?
  9. if you're going to be a misogynist, at least be clever about it and say "chickmunks". ideally neither though.
  10. THAT would be priceless. nyi goes on a losing streak, lou determines he can't get bo long term, flips him for a better return than he gave up.
  11. my heart couldn't take it. tanman, markstrom, toff ... living in calgary, it's like the universe is cramming it down my throat. it still makes me physically sick to my stomach, no exaggeration, seeing chris tanev in red. fate is trying to force me in a direction that I cannot and will not go.
  12. I feel like the problem might be that they aren't focused enough in general. when the twins were here setting the bar, those peak years with the keslers and the bieksas and the grouse grindses, this was the fittest team in the league. I don't feel like the standard has been anywhere near high enough for years. there's nobody on the team that strikes me as a gym rat, and not since stech has there seemingly been anyone truly willing to sell out all they've got. that's a big part of the culture that needs a-changin' from my perspective.
  13. he doesn't have much incentive to not at least test free agency, but I could also see him feeling rattled and gun-shy after the trade and taking a fair offer if nyi extends him one.
  14. people knowingly consent to listening to thomas drance? I'd rather listen to mariah carey's christmas song on loop.
  15. and you might be right, I certainly haven't done the research. but my significant hunch is that if you compare equivalently drafted players, their d+1s won't be largely indicative of long-term success. again, just my hunch. some analytics nerd has probably posted a spreadsheet about it on twitter somewhere.
  16. I really think Bo was focused this entire year on making bank, but I also think he was confident the canucks would cave and find a way to give it to him. I guess he can see what offers are on the table come july and if he really wants to come back, he can grovel and see what happens. I don't see the canucks bringing him back at any price point now, though. I predict that he'll really struggle to adapt in new york and will be statistically lacklustre the rest of the year.
