Yeah, I had my doubts about Ritchie so I'm glad we got the guy that can score, is huge, fast, fuelled, has a great shot, and is tough. Regardless like you we really don't know how these guys will turn out. Reading reports and watching Utube videos and then calling out one pick over another is beyond stupid and egotistical.
The thing a lot of these guys don't get is that they say we draft two way and not for skill. That's not exactly it, a player is either good and able to excel and offer something at the NHL level or they aren't. Rodin was a skilll guy, Shirokov was a skill guy. Great if you get Selanne as a skill guy from a pick but if you get Shanahan, Roenick, Linden. That ain't bad either.
Since we're not there the best we can do is sit back and watch now. These guys may be years away anyway but there is a total chance that Nylander and Ehlers could bust, same with Virtanen. However, I like our chances.
Personally I think out of those three Nylander has the most chance to bust because he is over confident. Ehlers actually looks very grounded and I think he will score 30 goals a year for awhile. I think Virtanen will too though so we'll see which one of these guys ends up the best.
