Well Minister ... you know what ought to be done? About 3 days away from the draft we need to create a thread where everybody has one post and one post only (their first one - can be edited up until one hour before the draft) to name their top 10/ top 20/ top 30 and then it will be on perminent record. Then the thread creator can go back after the draft, tally all the results and then we can tell who are the real geniuses out there, or in here. I would find that entertaining because in this case I know enough to know that I don't know enough to know, but I'd give it a shot. Really I think it's youngsters that don't fully understand math or life at this point but run a computer phone like the dickens, or those that don't understand hockey fully. They are somehow confusing a draft pick in the lottery range as a pretty sure bet to land McDavid when in reality the Isles 12-17 overall will only garner them a 1% chance of first pick. Trading a 5th pick for a 14th pick because you get a 1% at 1st is pretty stupid. For those that don't get it. 5 >>>>> 14, even with the stronger draft year.

This team was terrible. The blindness is quite rampant. You got people here talking about systems and crap like they actually have a clue of what was going on and what systems were ran. Torts said as much himself. Most people's comments suggest they don't understand anything about the system. They can't conceive that maybe the team, like all teams, became a bad team with medicore players and just plain sucked. I'll tell you one thing, if you traded all of Boston's players for Canuck players at the start of the year Torts would have them challenging for the President's trophy playing the exact same system he employed this year and our Canuck players would still be golfing.

Yeah, that's the only thing I could see. I don't think it's that big of a deal though. I would assume most of the draft work from teams is yet to come. They would just leave him out of those conversations. Obviously the combine and interviews are very important draft measures still upcoming.

I don't get how this is an issue. We pick at best 5 picks after them and then they don't pick again for at least 16 picks after us. How would we be stealing their picks?

So your argument is that the best goalie should play every game so your starter should play 82 games. You come off as a butthurt Luongo fan. It doesn't seem like you understand the sport. Backup goalies play games dude. How do you think they get starts? They just start a certain number of games in order to give the starter a break. You place far too much importance on a gimmick hockey game that your mancrush didn't get to play in. It's just one game out of 82. By your logic any time a backup starts there is a goalie controversy. As far as overplaying your stars it's a statement to the GM that says "look I've got F all to work with here so I'm forced to overplay my stars all game long". It's just the reality of the situation. It's pointless to pretend that this forward group is adequate.

Yeah, as much as I've enjoyed the Sedins and what they've brought for most of their careers they have weaknesses like everybody else. Unfortunately, as skillful as they are and with the pricetag attached they still need to have some serious talent on the other lines, which we are seriously lacking, in order to be succesful.

Henrik takes bad penalties all the time. Hooking in the offensive zone because he's too lazy to backcheck. All players should block shots if needed. Treating them different like spoiled rich kids is part of the problem on this team. If our two highest players can't block shots we're in serious trouble.

Yeah grab a clue. Goalie controversy, what because he didn't play the crybaby in the classic? That's an idiotic statement. Newsflash for you, teams have two goalies and both of them play during the year. He overplayed his veterns because the rest of the team sucks balls. Again, obvious to those with a brain. Okay so he stormed the other teams dressing room and showed that he cares. Big deal.

MG was the problem.

Both of these teams play with incredible hand eye coordination. They Wings are not completing two and three of three of these like the Bruins do. You ever notice how they always seem to rebound from a goal with just getting to the net and the last guy always has some crazy in the air puck manouver he always has to do? And it almost always works.

I've noticed with Boston they make plays. You gotta go for broke when they're pinching the 5th guy in the zone ... I think ... uhhhhh. I don't know.

Well he attempted to coach his team that way by shot blocking and playing a conservative defensive system both on offence and defence but he doesn't actually play does he? The team sucked. You guys act like a good coach could've been the difference between the Sabres finishing last and getting the president's trophy. HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO OUR TEAM SUCKED !!!!

You gotta get a team together before you find them a coach if you want be all brainchild and talk systems folks. When you have a horrible team you play defence, minimize mistakes, and play hard. Exactly what Torts did.

Really it all depends on what direction Linden intends to go in. If we can actually create a spot for him to play like Hertl than great. This MG moneyball motto has left us wondering. Also just because TL is rumored to be going big an though in his own vein, which is the right thing to do, it doesn't mean he's not going to take BPA first pick either. I trust Trev, we are going to have a direction for a change coming out of the summer.

Kay, I've been biding my time watching, listening to this Ehelers cfap. He's a light weight compared to Bure who tied weights to his legs like his Olympic father. Is there anything to prove that he has Pavel qual or is he just another pastable Dane? Bottom line with a player like this how intelligent is he? That will determine his worth. Does anyone have any actual knowledge about this?
