[PGT] St. Louis Blues at Vancouver Canucks | Dec. 19, 2022

I hate seeing it but maybe it’s the message that ownership sees that forces change. It worked last year vs Pittsburgh and hopefully it works again. We as fans cannot continue to support mediocrity with no message from the very top and this seems to get through. Aqua is the root cause of everything in Vancouver Canuck land and if we want change we have to continue to disgrace him. -

The worst part is some of the most predominant and frequent posters on this board are the ones who sit way up on their high horse and laugh and belittle the realists on this forum who have for years called a spade a spade that this franchise is sputtering out of control because they think they are the smartest people in the room and know better. The staunch Benning loyalists and bad contract signing defenders I’m looking at you. -

We will set the record previously held by the Mariners for most seasons without the playoffs by any major professional organization at this rate. The lack of long term vision and nearsightedness because of a false sense of belief in the product from ownership will inevitably steer this team to new lows not seen since the 80’s and possibly even beyond. -
Probably the greatest sporting match I’ve ever seen in my life and it’s on sports’ biggest stage.

You know damn well this team is gonna go on a run later this season that takes them from a top 8 pick to 14th overall in the draft and we get ourselves another Lekkerimaki. -

Not even close to being bottom 5. The Ducks organization know what’s up. Got some good young talent and sh*t the bed for a year or two, draft Bedard and boom, gonna be better than the canucks in 3 years because this team continues to tread in mediocre land by being not bad enough to be a lottery team but not good enough to make the playoffs. -

Gilman confirmed it a while ago when 1040 was still around and would regularly come on as a guest.

[Rumour] Bo Horvat Trade/Contract Talks

Part of me believes Bo wants a change of scenery. Sometimes players simply want to leave their current situation regardless of their stature within the organization. Can’t blame him for chasing the bag either. -

Brutal. Oh well management made its bed by prioritizing Miller. Gonna have to eat this one when it bites them in the behind and Millers contract becomes more if a liability than it already is. -
It’s simple. Stop going to games, stop buying merchandise, and take some time off from watching this disaster of a franchise. I flicked it on for a few minutes and Montreal scored 3 goals. I laughed because I’m not surprised and changed the channel. I stopped giving a sh*t this season because nothing is going to change anytime soon and this team isn’t worth my time if they aren’t willing to provide fans with any sort of hope things are gonna get better. The root cause of the problem is the owner so hit him where it hurts the most. I wouldn’t go to a game even if the tickets were given to me for free let alone shelling out $80. I would LOVE to see 10k fans tops at Rogers like the early 2000’s.

Can’t see Bo re signing here given the state of the franchise and how he’s basically punched himself a ticket well north of 8 million per season with his performance so far. If I were him I’d want to gtfo as quick as possible.

Too little too late to get a decent return for Boeser. I said it before that he should have been dealt after the Covid season where his value was at its highest and he was healthy. He’s not a player that moves the needle regularly enough and although talented his skating and defending are his Achilles heel and GMs are well aware of this. Just getting rid of his cap hit would be a win in itself but teams know the Canucks are cap strapped so good luck getting futures. Gonna be a cap out cap in kinda deal.

[PGT] Florida Panthers at Vancouver Canucks | Dec. 01, 2022

It’s 2022 and we have gotten to the day and age where it’s on the players to show up to camp in shape. If you aren’t fit enough to play an 82 game schedule then you probably shouldn’t be in the league and Europe may be a better option. Miller can be flat out lazy and seems as if he’s playing for himself this season and OEL, well, age may be catching up to him as he is a shell of what he once was. The coaches can only do so much and I firmly believe the onus is on the players for how they play each and every night and we have a bad mix of individuals who are too comfortable in a country club atmosphere in Vancouver, passively collecting a paycheque, rather than a cohesive, driven, goal oriented team of players who leave it all out there on most nights. We are stuck in no man’s land with a cap strapped team with a bunch of players with bad, immovable contracts with no quick fix but a team not bad enough to be in the lottery sweepstakes. The absolute worst place imaginable after nearly a decade of failure while trying to put a bandaid on an open wound. -

I remember the home game vs Detroit where it was an absolute must win to stay afloat in the playoff race and they came out flat and completely sh*t the bed.
