  1. Erickson was a healthy scratch once last season. Once. I doubt they go from dressing him all but one game to burying him in the minors. Anything is possible, but to talk about it like it will definitely happen seems unlikely.
  2. Lol. Calling a ppg player “washed up”.
  3. Interesting how dumping Lucic costs Edmonton a high 1st and high 2nd round pick but dumping Eriksson only costs Vancouver a 3rd. Lol. All the proposals heavily favour Vancouver.
  4. The circumstances behind the Ehrhoff trade and you’re proposal aren’t remotely similar
  5. I’m sure Florida will be more than happy to keep their pick, or trade it for a player who’s actually signed to an NHL contract rather than sell it off for a couple of Vancouver’s magic beans
  6. Good luck with that. You forgot a step. CALL the WAAMBULANCE.
  7. Tryamkin’s rights are worth next to nothing with him under contract in the KHL for another year Same goes for Karlssson. It’s only his rights as he’s not actually under contract to the Canucks and he’s currently playing in Europe. The 2nd is a 2nd. You're offering practically nothing and wanting the 13th overall in return.
  8. I don’t see why the Isles would do this. Wilde was taken 27 spots ahead of Madden less than a year ago. And while Madden has looked very good so far. So has Wilde. Plus, generally speaking, big right shot D are worth more than undersized C’s
  9. So in other words. You wouldn’t offer anything close to what it would take to get the pick
  10. Uhm. What? Why does Florida trade a 70 point forward on a sweetheart contract and the 13th overall for a couple injury prone players and a second next year?
  11. There is next to no cap savings in buying out Lucic
  12. https://www.tsn.ca/russian-wingers-top-tsn-s-ranking-of-nhl-affiliated-prospects-1.1241872 http://www.espn.com/nhl/insider/story/_/id/26142330/top-50-nhl-prospects-ranking-best-young-players-hockey 1. Cale Makar, D, Colorado Avalanche Previous: 20 Current team: UMass (Hockey East) Of every drafted player I've watched this season, none has impressed me more than Makar. He is an elite skater with high-end puck skills, excellent distribution skills and adequate defensive play. A one-man transition who can get up the ice as fast as anybody outside of the NHL right now, this is a player who has taken significant steps to solidifying his projection as a likely top-pairing stalwart. There are a few other factors that put Makar at No. 1 after a relatively low No. 20 spot at preseason. There has been noticeable and marked improvement in all facets of his game. Makar plays a ton, in all situations and the team goes as he goes. I have not seen a single skater make this level of an impact on his collegiate team since Jack Eichel helped put Boston University back on track as a freshman. It's just not an easy thing for one guy to do, but Makar is doing it Lastly, Makar's character is such an important piece of his skill set. Greg Carvel, coach at UMass, told me that Makar is simply "one of the guys," blends in and has been coachable, despite his pedigree as a top-5 NHL draft pick. Makar needed to work on his defensive game and picking his spots offensively, and has done so. Carvel also noted that in his career as a college head coach, he has not seen a player as good as Makar. A former coach with the Ottawa Senators, Carvel worked with Erik Karlsson, just as an FYI. To me, Makar has taken his game to a level that I did not necessarily see as possible a year ago based on his freshman performance. As one opposing coach put it, "He doesn't even belong in our league. He should be in the NHL right now." 2. Quinn Hughes, D, Vancouver Canucks Previous: 9 Current team: Michigan (Big Ten) One of the most naturally gifted skaters you'll see, Hughes uses his feet to his advantage in all zones. His edgework allows him to deceive oncoming checkers, and he has the vision and hockey sense to make high-end plays. Hughes can sometimes take a few too many risks and get burned, but he's such a unique talent that you live with those plays. At his best, Hughes is a one-man breakout who often turns that rush into offense at the other end.
  13. Would you trade Hughes for that? I wouldn’t. And at this point Makar is considered the better prospect
  14. Sekera was actually pretty good for Edmonton when he came back from injury and ended the season healthy. Tanev missed the final 11 games with a lower body injury. I doubt Holland sees taking on a question mark in Tanev as a big enough win to trade away the 8th overall pick.
  15. Where’s the value in that for Chicago? Yes. that first could be higher than this year. But it could be lower. They currently have the 3rd overall pick. Why take a chance on next year when they can pick in the top 3 now and vevefit immediately
  16. What’s L.A. got to do with the 3rd overall? Chicago owns that pick.
  17. Strome put up 51 points in 56 games in Chicago. I’m not saying he’s better than Horvat. Just that 2C isn’t a particular worry for them. They can address other issues with their lineup with that 3rd overall pick.
  18. Value aside. I doubt Chicago would have much interest in moving the 3rd for Horvat. They’re pretty much set for C between Toews and Strome.
  19. Based on what? His ok 79 game stint with the Canucks or his ok play in an inferior league. He MIGHT end up being a superior player. But there’s really nothing to support that at this point.
  20. So Washington trades a legit top 4 NHL defenceman who is signed for another 3 seasons for the rights to a player under contract in the KHL for another season who was just ok in his last stint in the NHL. What am I missing here? Oh. And btw. Niskanen has a 15 team NTC. Wanna bet he’d prefer to stay on a cup contender over a team that is mid rebuild?
  21. Why would the Caps even consider that?
  22. Just because they CAN still trade him until July 1 doesn’t mean that they’d be remotely willing. They signed him to an 8 year term for a reason
  23. No. You couldn’t. According to the CBA Panarin would have had to be on the Vancouver roster from the most recent trade deadline in order to qualify for an 8 year contract from Vancouver. Trading for his rights is meaningless at this point. So no. There’s not a way to accomplish giving him an 8 year contract. Yes. You could give Tryamkin a signing bonus to make up for him having to buy out his contract. But that tacks onto his AAV. Artificially raising his cap hit. That isn’t a huge deal, but it does come with its own problems down the road.
  24. You can’t sign Panarin to an 8 year contract. Only Columbus can do that. Also. It’s going to take significantly more than $7.5m to do it in addiction. Vancouver can’t buy out Tryamkin’s KHL contract. If he wants out of it he has to buy it out himself.
