  1. Next year is JB *& TG's last chance to at least get us in the playoffs and I fully expect that will happen OR both will certainly be gone. I would bet 5 bucks on that! This was a transition year from the Old Sedin Era. The team is on the uptick and the worse is over IMO. Besides the games were a lot more exciting to watch this year with the odd exception.
  2. I bet you Granlund accounts for 95% of those crossbars and post. He couldn't score a goal if his life depended on it. One of the worse shooters in awhile.
  3. Is there any way to package up Erikson & Pooliot so we are rid of them. Maybe put a bow on them and leave them by the curb....
  4. Excellent work ! Should be Pinned by Moderator. Deb where are you?
  5. Let's end this epic post as well Jim Benning. Burrows is another old has been. Trade him to Montreal or Florida and lets end this post as well. It's been years the fans have commenting he needs to go as part of the old-guard house cleaning.! The sooner the better. We can use his cap room anyways.....
  6. When will he ever be traded off to Florida for retirement. He's old and slow and caused the last goal against Montreal tonight because he can longer keep up to anyone. His best days are far behind him and It will not get better. Too bad Gillis signed him to an overpriced 5 year deal. Just another bad memory from the MG days. Surely we could get a bag of pucks and free up some cap room. Just give him away or pay him to leave...... He's a liability!
  7. Mind-blowing some people actually think Tortelini is worth keeping. The guy is more emotional than a woman and has no composure, tact or an ounce of professionalism. That incident w/Calgary between periods reminded me of certain humans that explode every 28 days - if you get what I mean! That was unbelievably embarrassing to watch and not what professional athletes aspire to see in their leader. That was the writing on the wall for him after that. No one wants a hot head at the helm!
  8. Not a surprise. I predicted 1 maybe 2 seasons tops and was another in the long list of botched MG blunders. He is a square peg in a round hole and is too emotional to be a coach. No demeanor, no tact, no plan....Tortelini. Good riddance! Can I be the one to push his barge out to sea! Only a bat couldn't have seen this one coming!
  9. Worth keeping for 1-2 more years at 2M + a pass to the Roxy and free Tylonol. Do not give him a NTC - Gillis!!!!!
  10. Why is Tortilini still coach? Why is MG still in this city? They are not wanted.
  11. Interesting post-mortem on Anaheim. Fact is,they had a plan. We obviously don't. This team, franchise, coach, GM and owner are in freefall and have no plan!
  12. Get used to this 1970's style of Canucks team because we're stuck with 2/3 of the team for the next 4-5 years. It will take the next GM 6-8 years t rebuild.
  13. THEYT BETTER BE WORRIED ABOUT SEASON TICKET HOLDERS! The retool should start with the first dull tool and that's you MG. You have lived off the coat tail of your predecessor and have not added one single top 6 player since you've been here. You've given away two top goaltenders for virtually nothing. The writing was on the wall with your first panic move with the Sundin Fiasco. You were lucky he graciously left before robbing you of $20,000,000.00 remember that? I can go on about all the other botched trades and terrible NTC's you handed out like candy which will hog-tie this team for 3-5 more years. Bottom line - you must resign. You have tried and failed. Something you can and should be ashamed of - yet have some self respect and quit before Aqualini finally snaps out of it and fires you. .....and take that over emotional Tortelini with you. He does not belong here either.
  14. Worst game of all time! if MG isn't fired after this - the team will just have to 8 in next game until Justice is done! This is 100% MG fault.
  15. cant wait to hear what Tortelini has to say...if he's still coach
  16. get this over with - please! I hope fans wear paper bags at the next game and throw their jerseys on the ice.
  17. WAY TO GO MG - LEFT THE CUPBOARDS EMPTY - DID YA! 32 DAYS TILL YOU'RE GONE WITH THAT OVER EMOTIONAL COACH. WHAT A SIGHT TO BEHOLD. DISGRACEFULL 111
  18. TORTS WAS LOOKING FOR THE BACK-UP -- BUT THERE IS NO BACKUP..
  19. FIRE TORTS AND MG TONIGHT! THIS IS GARBAGE AND COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE !!!! DO AQUQLINE- BE A MAN FOR ONCE!
  20. Can't wait for CBC Toronto to call-out MG and the team! Should be worth watching. We'll be embarrassed in front of the entire country on national TV - WHICH IS WELL DESERVED!
  21. No, but I'm not sold on Tortelini either. After MG is fired in 3 months we'll see what Torts can do. Lets wait!
  22. GILLIS IS AFRAID TO TAKE RISK AFTER THE SUNDIN FIASCO. NOW HE PLAYS IT SAFE....
  23. Burrows began his decline almost three years ago and has been on an extremely rapid decline to oblivion. He should not be playing top line minutes and definitely not on the PP. He reminds me of SLO-MO (Brendan Morrison) who in his sunset years with the nucks could not hit an open net. The tragedy is not so much that Burrows is now completely 100% useless - it's that we couldn't trade him if we wanted to due to the ridiculous extension and salary MG threw at him because MG was too lazy to seek out new fresh young talent for those big dollars. Let alone his no trade clause. I would suggest after Aqualini fires MG he buyout Burrows along with Booth. That wold be a go.od start.
  24. THE AUTHOR OF THIS POST SPOKE THE HARD TRUTH AND MG took the easy path and simply resigned them. It's another example in the long list of MG feline footing and taking the low risk path forward which he planned would buy him another couple of years as gm. That is what he thought - the reality is that the true hockey fans of van could see this train wreck three years ago and when MG should have started a methodical restructuring of the team 3-4 pieces at a time - which if had happened might have resulted in a much better team today. Instead he did nothing but replace some of the plumbers and hope the old players would somehow regain their youth. the rest is history with the inevitable results today. The worst part is that some of the players that were worth something once upon a time can't even get an assist now a days and would be borderline players in the AHL. Opportunity lost! Now it will unfortunately be a 5-7 year painful and very expensive rebuild as fans flee in droves from the slow, boring hockey the Canucks are playing. Too bad and now that Aqualini has settled his personal affairs, perhaps he can start paying attention to this team he was entrusted with and start off by firing MG.
