Gaudette is ready and should be on the team and replace hopeless Goldovin and Eriksson - who under no circumstance should be allowed to set foot on the ice this season. Eriksson is a Lazy good for nothing parasitic cancer of no worth and with plenty of bad habits and low work ethic that will discourage the entire team. So the choice is clear!

BTW, My prediction for the record is that he is used as a disposal tool and traded by no later than January (as a sweetener) WITH one of the other deadbeat players, (Erikson, Suter) to an eastern team. I was cautiously optimistic that he might come in this year and try to give his best effort after floating around most of last season and almost being relegated to the minors but after seeing him almost booted out of camp for being overweight, out of shape and lazy, seems to be the writing on the wall for his last few months in Vancouver. He obviously doesn't care and neither should the Canucks! What a sad story!

Everybody needs to take a deep breath, look in the mirror and digest the reality that Lazy Jake is. Remember, it was Linden who made him "a sympathy draft pick" in an effort to excite the fan base by bringing in a local kid when the team had absolutely nothing going for it to excite the base. Secondly, Jake is a seagull player, I watched Jake play through the years of minor hockey and he was always known as the kid that floated up around the blue line waiting for the "opportunity" pass to land on stick and blow in for a goal. That was what he was always known for and still is. He never was a hard north/south - end-to end player and why we routinely see him floating like a cork around the neutral zone. So how he ever got ranked so high in the draft is beyond me. Lazy Jake should have been a mid 2nd to high 3rd round draft player. If he would have been ranked there and picked up in the second or third, we'd all be singing kum-ba-ya now, but because of the ridiculous ranking he was given and where he was picked, he now appears to be "a lazy, good for nothing immature, under achieving, out of shape, flaky floater". So, going forward, I say we give him no more than 4 months and if by January he's still out of shape, dis-engaged or as lazy as he's been over the last 2 years - then we trade him. A second rounder in a trade would be plenty and a first rounder would be a bonus, but both he and the team need to $h!t or get off the pot. It's bad enough our team is harboring old anchors with bad habits like Erikson and Edler, but keeping a lazy 22 y.o. under achieving first rounder doesn't cut it - if the team is serious about creating a hard-working culture of success. Enough said!

I've been praying for years he'd be forced to sell the team so we could get real owners interested in a winner not just a tax write off against real estate and now that the Canada’s tax court has upheld a 2007 tax assessment this past week against the Aquilini family because the Aquilini brothers filed net income from AIGLP of about $51,000 each and their mother’s estate of $176,000 in 2007, and were reassessed by Revenue Canada to taxable income of about $11.5 million for each brother and $4.3 million for the mother’s estate, according to the judgment. Now they owe millions + with his recent failed marriage and divorce his wife took a fortune from him so he is now a financial pickle. Hopefully this finally forces him to sell.

Under NO CIRCUMSTANCE should he ever be allowed to set foot in the Canucks dressing room again. He is a bad example for our young players as he is a totally dis-interested, un-engaged, lazy good for nothing floater. Lazy Jake should have gone late 2nd or early 3rd rounds after what we've seen from this guy so far. He was definitely not a quality 6th pick! That Pick was a bust!

We'll likely end up with someone with JV's or Granlunds caliber at 40th.

I don;t know about you, but I smell a "BIG" deal in the winds! I'm not sure what it will be but I suspect this pick will be packaged up with other assets for "a deal" !

While I agree with most of what you say, I have been watching these up and down cycles for many years and I know our defense will get some adjustments made in the off season. With Bumgardener gone, Pooalot soon to follow and what I suspect will be the addition of one maybe two quality d's along with the disposal of Erikson, Grandlund and Sutter, (possibly Jake Virtanen) for two more good forwards, then we should at least make the playoffs next year. If you look back to that terrible 13 game losing streak in November, If we had simply played 500 hockey thru that period we'd be in the playoffs today. So we are not far off at all. Let alone I can bet J.B. and T.G.'s heads are on the line if we go one more year missing the playoffs so they are going to work hard to save their behinds. So hold your breath and remember this post!

Looking at Zack Kassian's stats, who achieved the same points in less games - says it all - as we all know what happened to Zack and the same will likely happen to lazy-Jake. If he manages to stay on the team past July by some miracle, I would call next year his very absolute LAST CHANCE. He either pulls his socks up and gets his head in the game or get rid of him. This team cannot afford another 8 years of floaters ! JB should set some limits on mediocrity and set the bar higher.
