Crazy. Hate to say it, but Bo is worse in almost every way than Couturier. Just a point for his agent to start from though I guess.

Couturier has had better point totals then Horvat few seasons 76 points...I would say he is worth more then Horvat..

Joke Virtanen had the bc dream and flushed it down the toilet

I agree we had Virtanen 6'1- RW  lots of potential along with McCann 6'1 - C very talented.. Maybe if these guys we sent to minor and developed properly they would of had a better start to the NHL.. McCann has turned out and just signed  big contract..

Developing and not rushing 20 year old into the line up is so important, example both of these players..

Trade Idea #1:  Get that RHD

    To VAN:

    Damon Severson

    Michael McLeod

    To NJD:

    Bo Horvat

    Jack Rathbone

Canucks acquire a RHD to pair with Hughes.  They also acquire a very good 3C in McLeod capable of taking defensive faceoffs (a la Horvat).  Over 1000 faceoffs last year, 57% wins.

NJD acquire Horvat to give them a very solid core of centres down the middle.  They also get Rathbone, a legitimate top 4 potential defensive prospect that might pair very nicely with Nemec in the future.

Trade Idea #2:  Load Up the Forwards

    To VAN:

    Anthony Mantha

    Nic Dowd

    1st Round Pick

    To WASH:

    Bo Horvat

Washington gets a major upgrade down the middle in Horvat.

Vancouver adds another top 6 winger to the mix, and now have a RH faceoff guy in Dowd for a few years.  The 1st round pick is a nice way to re-stock the cupboard moving forward.

We basically roll 4 lines.  All with the ability to put the puck in the net.

    Kuzmenko-Petey-Mikheyev

    Podkolzin-Miller-Boeser

    Hoglander-Dowd-Mantha

    Pearson-Lazar-Garland

Only D man I want back from Devils is Marino 25 - RD decent contract 5 yrs X 4.4 million..

    Mcleod 24, 6'2 - 195 lbs -C

    Horvat -- ( 3rd rounder 2024 )

I think we need to focus on an LD to pair with Myers, which means a defensive LD to secure the 2nd pairing behind OEL Hughes.  Someone like Cholowski may fit but secretly hoping Alexeyev or Carlsson go on waivers.  Could be a good recovery to have the following D:

    OEL Hughes

    Alexeyev Myers

    Rathbone Schenn

    Dermott

I really like Alexeyev 23 soon, 6'4, 200 lbs - LD.. Maybe he will be available next week?

yeah I'm not really on a "trade Petey :frantic:" train, just musing at what the return might be.

As for the age part, it doesn't up the curve if the return is a young RHD.

Yes just so much talent in Petey and only 23 years old.. I can see Petey having seasons of 80 - 85 points -- 25 - 30 goals

Next contract could be 8.5 - 9 million range if he has a  few good seasons starting this year..

    GP 75 -- G 27 -- PTS  76--80 -- 2022--23 season

One of the things I thought about when making this proposal is that Jenner and Bo are fairly close in age, and with that and having Pettersson and Miller down the middle, it allows Jenner to reduce his minutes and prolong his career.

I would make this trade for Horvat right away?

    Jenn 29 -6'2 - 205 lbs -C  should produce GP75 - G 18- 21 -- PTS. 42--46

Peeke 24 - 6'3 -200 lbs - RD -- 750,0000 this season -- 3 yrs at 2.75 million so great contract played top pair last season 24 mins..

We get a very solid stay at home D man for many years on a great contract.. Makes team better allows less goals..

    Lets make this deal...

Well, certainly if you move Pettersson, you change the player search. The trouble I have with doing it though, is that you really change the age of your core, with your top centers heading for 30 years of age. IMO, it is easier to find a Bo than a Pettersson, but I would not rule it out for the right return.

I wouldn't be trading Petey only 23  upside 78--90 points ? Horvat 27 and his upside is top 59--64 points wanting 7 million or more?

I don't mind paying big salaries but we already have Miller signed for 7 yrs X 8 million new contract start at 30 yrs old and ending at age 37.. Big contracts signed with long term can really hurt teams in last 2 -3 yrs of the deal??

Calgary will really feel Huberdeau 29 and Kadr 32 deals in 4 yrs? Can you imagine 17 million against cap for 2 old players...

I don't think so either CC, but with Boeser getting $6,650,000 on a 3 year, in a flat cap era, it begs the question of what Horvat's will be when the cap is expected to go up? How much does a 30 goal scorer make. Remember, Horvat's contract is up in a year, not tomorrow, so it is all in future dollars, and what his comparatives will be signing for in a year.

Maybe 8 million is a little steep, but mid 7's is not out of the question, and still forces the same question out about so much cap being allocated to so few.

BO worth 6.750 mil x 7 years. if he demands more than trade him. i love BO. i'ld want to know what other teams would give up for him. or miller?

I agree if Horvat camp demand over 6.9 million X 7 yrs its time to trade Horvat for young RD man.

Horvat younger then Miller should get a decent package back..

I would hope that either Horvat is signed or traded before October 15th this would be a big distraction..

Really feel a team will offer Horvat 7.5 X 7 yrs as a UFA.. Vancouver will never let Horvat become a UFA to big of asset to walk..

Canucks have some big contracts already and more coming big contracts to come..

    Petey - 2 yrs away - 8.5 - 9 million?

    Podkolzin -2 yrs away

Example - Markstrom -- Tanev, of recent left for nothing....

Honestly sounds nice acquiring Peeke. Would be perfect to get a young RH defencemen. Almost too perfect lol. Defencemen are extremely difficult to get. If we do manage something like that with a pick back I’ll eat my words. But I feel we will be disappointed in what we get and Bo is the most underrated player on this team. There is a reason a guy like Miller had the season he had and how things dried up for us after Bo got injured.

We will see, personally I’m fine with 7 million. Anywhere from 6.5 to 7 million is a fair deal in my books. I do not get wrapped up in the media BS myself. Elliot sends a tweet and people eat it up.

yes 6.5 - 7 million is fair deal but rumours of 7.5 million scare me..

I really like Peeke played top pairing last season in Columbus 24 mins, young 24 and big 6'3,  most of all RD man !

Trading Bo would be a huge, huge mistake. Couldn’t agree more. I don’t think our management group is that dumb. Bo will be re-signed.

Make the trade Horvat for RD man under 25 --

    Miller 8 million X 8 yrs

    Hughes 7.8  million  X 5 yrs

    OEL 7.2  million X 5 yrs

    Petey 7.2 million in 2 yrs will demand 8.8 - 9 million

    Demko  5 million  X 4 yrs

    Boeser 6.7 X 3 yrs

    Garland 4.9 X 4 yrs..

Can't pay Horvat over 6.8 million X 7 yrs ? I would trade him for Peek 6'3 -200lbs - 24 -RD played 1st pairing last season in Columbus

    Jenn -29 -6'2 - 200lbs -C.  3.75 million X 4 yrs

As proposals go this isn't bad.

I'm just concerned Peeke isn't the RHD solution we need.

I would do this deal right away..

    Jenn 29 - 6'2, 210 -C --GP 59 - G 23 - PTS 44 -- season 2021-22 -- 4 yrs X 3.75 million'

    Should produce GP 75 - G 17--20 -- PTS 38--42

Peeke 24 -- RD -- 6'3 - 200lbs -- will play 24: 44 minutes-- Can play 1st pairing with Hughes... Played top pairing with Werenski last season..

Peeke - 20th in NHL average ice time since paired with Zach Werenski last season

Peeke 24 - RD - 6'3 - 200lbs  -This  is the RD we need -- Lets make this deal...This would be fantastic..

    Trade Horvát  -- Columbus

    Jenn 6'2 C -- Peeke - RD - 24 ---- Lets get it done... Peeke this season 787,500  then

     3 yrs X 2.75 million great deal..deal ends 2025-25

Columbus won't do this deal?? Keep fingers crossed...

I have to say, our organization’s track record of developing defensive prospects is horrendously atrocious.

Almost every team has one of those diamond in the rough defenseman that goes on and becomes a serviceable NHL defenseman, apart from their drafted defenseman. And most these teams have 1 or 2 quality defensive prospects already in the pipeline. Other than Hughes who really didn’t need much development at all, we literally have 0 promising, up and coming defenseman in our line up.

Our defensive group and depth consists a mishmash of other teams scraps, ATO’s and projects, depth and declining defenseman. Poolman, Dekeyser, Dermott, Wolanin, Myers, hell OEL is overpriced to shit.

Not to mention the ones that didn’t pan out such as Juolevi, Chatfield, Sautner after years and years of “development”.

And then our depth consists of Juulsen, Burroughs (probably our only solid depth defenseman), Rathbone, etc. Brisebois and Woo either not having the proper chances of placed in productive situations to succeed, with the latter being totally misused by Cull.

Our defensive group and pipeline is worse than Edmonton, Toronto, freaking Montreal, Philly, Seattle, etc. It’s a joke.

It doesn’t matter we were a top 10 5 on 5 team defensively, I’m willing to bet most of that is due to Demko literally breaking his back to keep us in games.

We need to make a trade for a defenseman. We will not be a competitive team if we can’t add at least one more QUALITY defenseman in our line up.

I wouldn’t mind a trade that involves either Garland, Boeser, or Horvat to address this issue. Rathbone and perhaps maybe Hoglander are the only players that we can afford to let go to add as sweetners to a potential deal, but ideally we keep as many young guys as possible. The thing is, I’d much rather accomplish this now then later on. It may very well be too late.

You trade Horvat away you have a big hole at centre? Rate Canucks by position..

    1. Forwards # 6 NHL - When healthy 9 decent forwards and good group of 4th line guys..

    2. Defence #18 - - Hughes top notch D man ---OEL #2 D man put in shut down role last year.. Meyers #4 D man logs big minutes against other teams best forwards..  Rathbone 23 -will have a break out season with his elite skating and skill

    3. Golies - Demko GAA 918 -SA% 917- #5 goalie in the league--  Martin -should play 25 games- GAA 2.85 - SA% 911

Hope we can a RD that has to clear waivers or possible trade..

This team will make playoffs..1. Calgary 2 Edmonton 3, Vancouver 4. LA Kings

For the assets it would cost to get him we’d be better waiting for a younger cost controlled RHD.

One year to UFA where we’ll have to pay him 6-7 mil. Too much money tied to D-men that aren’t game changers.

Yes I agree when we make the trade lets get the RD man under 26 that can play beside Hughes for 5- 6 years..Hughes can go back and play Left D again..

I understand it will cost to get that #2 RD man ? We might have to trade a Boeser and 3rd rounder but this special RD man will prevent goals and play valuable minutes and make us a better team all around..

Sanheim is a lefty so it's not exactly ideal.  Cap would have to match in any deal

If he was a right handed D man for sure you make trade.. Can't see management group giving a big asset like Horvat or Boeser for

    LD man..

    Sanhein -26 - LD, 6'3 - 190-- will play 22--24 mins -- Average 31 points..

Sorry would not trade Horvat or Boeser for this D man.. Sanheim -1yr X 4.3 million UFA summer 2023

Alternatively you could  review those that hung on to the concept that Juolevi will some day, some day, prove he's worthy of a high draft pick

The same 15% on this board that said JT Miller trade was bad?? Always going to have 10--15% clowns on these site and around work? They always think there real funny and  like giving negative response to get a reaction..

These people forget nobody from management group will read there pathetic posts..
