I like Josh Mahura (ANA), Jacob Moverare (LA), Jansen Harkins (WPG). 2 younger D prospects that can play a 5 or 6. More mobility over Schenn or Poolman. Harkins would be a nice 13 forward and potentially can play bottom 6 minutes when needed.
Hawkins --LW--C. watched him lots

cap friendly is showing us with 60k in cap space this morning, so I'm assuming all of Ferlands LTIR is still available to us? or maybe we paper down Hogs, Kuzmenko and Hoglander to make room for 1 day? not sure how the mechanics all work.
I like P.Myers- 25 - 6'5, 210 lbs -RD --142 NHL games - 33 PTS-- 2.55 million X 2 yrs -- Lets chase this D man..

Zack MacEwan once again. [ https://www.hockeydb.com/ihdb/stats/pdisplay.php?pid=175199 ] If the Flyers just want a tough guy; He held up that part of the bargain.
As for the Playing part, not so much...
Flyers don't need MacEwen 26 then picked up one of the NHL top 5 tough guys Deslaurier 31...

Losing someone like Valimaki, who still has some upside, for nothing wouldn’t be ideal for Calgary, but for Valimaki, Salvian points out, it could be a fresh start, perhaps with an opportunity to once again establish himself as an everyday NHLer.
Valamaki will play with Coyotes, very skill big Fin never fit Sutter style..Could be #4 D man and build his stock to move in the future..
If Chychrun is traded Valamaki will really move up the roster..

Valimaki claimed by the Coyotes
Canucks being half way down the list means they'll have a heck of a time getting anyone good off waivers (Montreal/Chicago and Arizona will pick them off every time)

I'm going to go on a limb and suggest Chychrun is the Canucks top 4 D target
Burroughs/Rathbone, Hoglander/Garland as the names going back
I also wonder if Liam Foudy (CBJ) who is a young, bottom six speedster who could be acquired for someone like Lockwood, DiPietro and a pick
Another LD man? I don't think Canucks target Chychrun..Vancouver needs the real RD man under 26 that can log 20--22 mins at least #3 D on depth chart....

If Kuzmenko hits 55-60 points this year than I am sure at least one team will pay him $5 million on a long term deal. He will be a UFA so will have a bidding war for his services. At 27 years old lots of teams will be interested in him.
Tim Stützle got over $8 million for one 58 point season.
Stutzle 20 yrs old last January played GP 79- G 22 - PTS 58 - 20 yrs old??
Kuzmenko 26 had his first great season in KHL last year.. I hope he has a good year but NHL is a lot harder, faster league then KHL...
GP 75 - G 18--20 -- PTS 42 would be a very good year-- Will see what his stats are like after 20 GP, way too early to guess..

I think Kostin - 23 - 6'3 - 212 lbs - LW-- Has big upside very skilled - Needed a change fresh start could be scary if he gets his game together..

They are 15th in the waiver priority order - it's based on the standings at the end of last season. As from 1 November it then shifts to this season's standings (point percentage). The number of waiver claims doesn't impact the priority order.
Opening rosters are due tomorrow:
Could be some trades and teams moving players around. I think Vancouver will be in on something..

I figure it's all but guaranteed we move Myers, probably this summer after his bonus is paid. Low cash, one year left... Quite moveable.
We won't likely clear ALL his cap but something like $1m retained and get something like Hakanpaa, Dellandrea and a replacement 24 2nd.... Would clear about half, netting us $2.5m+/-.
Same for Pearson. He becomes more attractive with 1 year left as well. If not in the summer, at the TDL.
Unfortunately the right D is probably going to be a work in progress for a while. Which sucks given the "win now-ness" of the Miller extension.
I also doubt Kuzmenko earns $5.5. Even at 60+ points he's probably not doing better than a Garland type deal. Teams will want to make sure he can replicate that before forking over big dollars and term.
I agree Kuzmenko if he has a great season GP 75 G 20--25 -- PTS 52--56. -- 2 yr deal like 3.5--4 million - show me more..
I think Myers has 5 million cash bonus next July 1st and only 1 million for team on salary to pay.. So Myers will be easy to move next summer after July 1st..
Will free up 6 million AAV for cap space thats big..

Today and tomorrow maybe a few RD man get put on waivers.. I think a few teams will try and trade the player before he goes on waivers.. Should be interesting.. Thanks for info on waiver wire picking.. I thought it started in September.. That sucks as we might not have a chance with a few good RD come available...

12 points in 52 games and -8 on a God awful Hawks team. 122 hits, 67 blocked shots, 15 minutes of ice time per game.
Sounds like a steady, gritty type player. PA even said he makes us harder to play against. That's what matters.
Fans will like Stillman 24--6'1 - 200 lbs, plays like Burroughs but more skilled and younger...

Just on cap friendly Petey signed 3 yr deal last summer? 3 yrs X 7.25 = 2 yrs RFA -- Hughes 5 yrs UFA - OEL 5 yrs - Stillman - 2RFA
Every player your off by 1 yr? This season hasn't started????
Kuzmenko will have to have a fantastic season to even sign for 4 million?? Like GP 75 - G 25 PTS 50--58
Show me more deal..

I wonder if this move was made so we get a D and then can sign Milano.
Yes that could be..also think there will be a few RD man on waivers at the last minute..Vancouver have not picked a waiver player yet so they are almost at the top for picking waiver players that come available..

He won't make it to Van anyway, imo
Of course he won't make it to Vancouver as Canucks made a trade for Stillman 24 - LD...
Never said Vancouver would be after him.. Vancouver will wait for more waiver wire players there will be a few RD men available..

They're similar in size, but not sure if Valimaki is known for toughness. Just a hypothetical thought of mine.
Valimaki - 24 - 6'2 -212 lbs -LD- Fin-- I watched him lots in WHL he is very skilled but not a gritty guy.. Something like Edler big guy but not looking for fights. Just finished check .. I think he would help lots of team but Calgary has top 3 defence in NHL now..
He doesn't fit Sutter style..

Not happy with giving up the 2nd, but the left side of our defense looks good with Hughes, OEL, and Stillman.
Hard to say we win this trade considering we gave up a 3rd for Dickinson, and gave up a 2nd just to trade him, but we added toughness and Rathbone can marinate in the AHL just a little longer.
Reserving further judgment until we make another move.
Stillman 24, 6'1 , 200 lbs -LD Plays tough and will add grit on defence beside Schenn..

Ya I think based on stats he's closer to RNH. Both put up similar numbers, ones elite on the pk and ones elite at FO.
I like Horvat and if he accepts a contract based on what his role going forward is great but if not we don't need to overpay for someone who likely gets less minutes than JT and Petey but 7.7 is ridiculous given what JT and Petey make and even with the cap going up in 2-3 years paying someone who very well may be our 3C and almost guaranteed to put up less points than the other two while not being any better, or at least not so much better, defensively that makes him more valuable. Makes it seem prudent to pay him accordingly or move him for help on D. Just my 2 cents.
I agree Vancouver must keep cap in line and not pay Horvat over 6-7 -- 6.9 million tops X 7 years..
Miller signed at 8 million and worth more then Horvat.. 6.9 million X 7 yrs tops...
Petey will be demanding 8.8 - 9 million in 2 more years... Have to try and keep cap in line..
If Horvat camp want 7.7 million will have to find trade partner soon...
