    TRADE #1

    To VAN:

    Noah Dobston

    JG Pageau

    To NYI:

    Quinn Hughes

    Nils Hoglander

There is a serious premium for RHD.  Especially young ones locked up to a very cap friendly contract.  The cost is a very dynamic LHD in Hughes.

Canucks also get Pageau, who they will need with the departure noted below.

    TRADE #2

    To VAN:

    Fabian Lysell

    1st Round Pick

    To BOS:

    Bo Horvat

Bruins could really use a centre for the future with Bergeron nearing retirement.  They get Horvat while the Canucks get futures for the 3rd blockbuster below.

    TRADE #3

    To VAN:

    Jacob Chychrun

    To ARZ:

    Fabian Lysell

    Jack Rathbone

    1st Round Pick (BOS)

The Canucks get another bonafide top 4 defenceman in Chychrun using the pieces from the Horvat deal.

    OUT:  Hughes, Horvat, Hoglander, Rathbone

    IN:  Dobson, Chychrun, Pageau

    Kuzmenko-Petey-Podkolzin

    Garland-Miller-Boeser

    Pearson-Pageau-Mikheyev

    Joshua-Aman-Lazar

    Chychrun-Dobson

    OEL-Poolman

    Stillman-Myers

Stops right at 1st trade Dobson 22- RD -6'3 - 52 points last season 3 yrs X 4 million - NYI won't move RD men are hard to get..

    Pageau 5'10 - 29 - 4yrs X 5 million Big no  - small guy  - GP 75 -- G 16--18 -PTS  35--39  ?Maybe

Sorry this many trades only happen in Playstation Hockey 2022...

    I like Peeke 24 , 6'3 - RD - 24 min great contract 2.75 X 3 yrs--  #2 now

Schneider 21 - RD - 6'2 - Played solid in playoffs for Rangers..   Future #2

I don't think teams would trade either player.

These guys are not on your list? .

On list say there 60 RD men how many of those guys can play top 4 and play over 20 minutes..Maybe 15--20 ?

I guess that is what makes cost so high especially  when you want player under 27...

Now we know why its so hard for management to trade for this player?

  3. 5 minutes ago, HKSR said:

But seriously, have you guys actually done the research to see who the heck would be available that is a Top 4 RHD at an age that fits the Canucks age group???

    Take a look yourself:

    https://www.capfriendly.com/browse/active/2023/caphit/all/defense/all/desc/right?stats-season=2023&limits=age-15-29

Those are the active RHD aged up to 29 years old in the entire NHL.

Of that list, who is realistically attainable that could be considered a true Top 4 RHD?

Reality is, if we want a Top 4 RHD, it'll come through drafting and developing our own, or else picking one up via UFA.  Acquiring a RHD via trade generally costs a fortune, which is why I'm quite disappointed the Canucks brass didn't make a push to acquire Marino when he was available.  Look how much Nils friggin Lundqvist cost!

Anyways, my rant for the day to show some clarity in terms of RHD availability.

    I like Peeke 24 , 6'3 - RD - 24 min great contract 2.75 X 3 yrs--  #2 now

Schneider 21 - RD - 6'2 - Played solid in playoffs for Rangers..   Future #2

I don't think teams would trade either player.

Agreed, I thought he looked pretty solid especially considering he's still getting his game legs back under him.

He looked a little shakey at times but I didn't notice him do anything that made me yell at the TV. He made a few really good board plays and shut down some dangerous looking chances. Hopefully he continues looking better with more game time.

I agree Poolman played good, hope he keeps his game simple stay home use his good skating...

  6. Vancouver really missed Myers and his 21-23 mins last night.. Myers alone on PK never mind long reach on regular shift.

Guess Myers is out for another month so  9 -- 11 games..

Myers gets a lot of negative response but Myers is a real # 3 D man. Always playing against other teams best players on shut down role.

Do we really need him?  With Miller and Petey as #1C and #2C (or 1a and 1b), Horvat is 3C.

Is it time for a culture change?  If so, it has to start with the captain.  Personally, I'd love to see the "C" on Petey or Miller.  Way more fire in their game.  The culture in Vancouver has been so tame and timid.  We've had Nazzy, Henrik, and Bo... all great guys, but man, the intensity level hasn't been there since Linden.  What happened to captains like Smyl and Linden for the Canucks??

Anyways, my gut tells me that JR/PA are evaluating him right now, and it wouldn't surprise me one bit if he's traded this season.

PS - my gut told me Miller was likely to get re-signed.  So here we go...!

We have other players to sign soon, Petey, Podkolzin , Kuzmenko, Hoglander and of course Horvat..

I would move Horvat soon if  Pat Alvin can find right deal?

    Example -

    Peeke  24 - 6'3 - RD - 23-25 mins first line pairing great contract starting next season  3 yrs X 2.75 million

    Jenner 29 - 6'3 - C/LW -- would be solid #3 centre. contract 3.75 X 4 yrs

    Horvat 27 - 6'0-215 - C - #2 C- Solid guy should produce GP 75 - G 25-28 -- PTS  55 - 60 -UFA summer 7 yrs X 6.9 -- 7.5 ?

    Rathbone 23 - 5'11 - LD  -  could be a future #4 D MAN

Would make deal right away.. Either sign Horvat soon or trade? Imagine being in playoffs and have to make decision at trade deadline ? Can't lose Horvat as UFA ..

Agree; Shat even admitted "I don't know but"...

These attention-seekers are a pain in the Marchand.

And then all the Negative Nellies jump on board with, 'the sky is falling'.

Just drop the puck (and drop the talking heads stirring up the BS).

I like the logic Horvat is a solid #2 centre but on Vancouver with Petey 22 mins -- Miller 21 mins only so much time for Horvat who needs at least 18-20 mins...

Locking Horvat for 6.8 mil X 7 yrs top ?

Look at a guy like Peeke 25 - 6'3 - RD - Top pairing mins 24 mins last season, great contract starts next season 3 yrs X 2.7 mil

    I would make this trade today.. Columbus add 2nd rounder 2024 -- or Jenner 29 - 6'3 - 215- C

    No it’s not,

I’ve suggested Boeser as well to move.

I see Miller as being a huge catalyst for this club ever since his arrival from one of our best  trades in recent history.

Bo and Brock were never Team Catalysts.

    Perhaps it’s a goalie that moves, ?

If Martin gets more time he could push for a number 1 spot somewhere after this season.

Silovs will probably be in the Canucks bench next Season and we’ll be debating Goalies again lol.

Change happens,   If you can’t see it coming ,

you’ve closed the door to something inevitable that will blow your door off.

I didn’t think they would trade Miller for what he brings to the entire team , not only in his personal play,  but how it rubs off on to young players.

Bo or Brock don’t have that,.

Sure they could trade Miller,  but I highly doubted it before the signing,  and I doubt it even more now.

The Canucks are in a great position to trade someone to get better on D ,

Unless someone drops into our laps , that trade is more probable than a possibility.

Peeke -25 - 6'3 - RD - Played 23-25 mins top pairing last season.. Great contract that kicks in next season 3 X 2.7 million

    Horvat --- Columbus

    Peeke - RD -- Vancouver

Peeke would be more valuable to this team with his play....

Peeke played 22-24 min top pairing last season...

CBJ are looking on the outside in on a playoff spot and other then a potential Johny Hockey, Laine, Jenner and Voracek there are questions in the forward Group. Bjorkstand is gone and Kent Johnson is the next potential 1C.

We can help them out by giving them a couple forward that can net them 50 pts each and help them.

Canucks Trade: Horvat (30% retained), Garland and Rathbone

    in exchange for

    Roslovic and Boqvist.

This gives CBJ some depth on C and may allow Kent Johnson to slowly step into a higher roll.

Roslovic is a potential 3C to replace Horvat for us and Boqvist gives us  depth on RHD.

Is this a fair deal or are we underpaying for the potential in Boqvist.

I like the tread but not Horvat and Garland that would hurt the offence..

Horvat - Rathbone -  3rd rounder 2023 -- Horvát alone should get almost get deal done...

    Boqvist - Roslovis

I wish people would not respond to TSN and Buttons' click bait (especially if they believe it).

Yes I watched that ridiculous panel ranking Canucks 5th???

Calgary had made it announced that they wanted a top 9 player , yet Milano failed to fill those role.

However, they got a pretty stacked DMAN group that bides our attention.

We have talents in our top 9 that warrant Hoglander a spot in the AHL if everyone is healthy. With Hoglander waiting for a chance and Karlsson surprising us in the preseason.

Should we make a trade with an enemy?

    ---

Canucks Acquire: Rasmus Andersson who can step into the Canucks Top 4 at a good cost, can help on the PK and most importantly help on the Right Side.

Flames Acquire:  Connor Garland and a 2nd round pick in the 2023 draft.

    ---

Is this an overpay or underpay? Let me know - open to opinions :)

Calgary won't trade Rasmus Anderson 25 #2 D man  on there team.-- Never. He is very very good he would be #2 IN Vancouver ..

Calgary have picks and depth to find a top 9 forward without trading  Anderson RD man..

Never happens RD man like Anderson are super hard to find...

    Horvat 27 -- 3rd rounder Calgary

    Rasmus Andreson 25 RD

Might cost more to get Anderson-- This guy is very very good.. RD only 25 yrs old offensive solid D man
