  1. yes, but have to win gold in mens hockey to be complete joy.

    Definitely the cherry on top.

According to my Sochi App, there are 9 sets of medals yet to be handed out:

    1. Women's cross-country (30k) (A lot of Norwegians and Russians in this one, a couple Canadians)

    2. Women's parallel slalom (Qualification for finals will be decided tonight, three Canadians competing)

    3. Men's parallel slalom (Qualification for finals will be decided tonight, three CDNs competing)

    4. Men's Team Pursuit Finals (Canada has a shot at a medal)

    5. Women's Team Pursuit Finals

    6. Men's biathalon relay

    7. Men's 50km X-country

    8. Men's bobsled

    10. Men's hockey

  2. Not saying it should be all on Ovechkin. Just saying that he would be the most obvious person to blame if I were a disgruntled fan that did not pay attention to games.

Fixed for you. The coach was brutal, the selection of KHL players was brutal. The use of KHL players in key situations was mind-boggling. If Team Canada's biggest political controversy was MSL over Giroux, we're laughing.

  3. I was actually wondering about that. Earlier in the games, they were making a big deal over how Alex Bilodeau was the first to repeat as a Gold medalist for Canada...

The ladies above must have been thinking "Say what?"

I think they were saying that he was the first Olympian to win repeat golds in moguls.

EDIT: 8-2 Canada in the 7th end.

  4. I was looking forward to the Olympics, figured I wouldn't have to listen to all the whining that normally goes on around here with Canucks games. Man, was I wrong...

Its actually not that many users, just a small few who are really obnoxious about it. I just use the board's 'ignore' function, that way I can't even see the gibberish that a lot of them write.

  5. Just looking over the medal count from Vancouver in 2010 and up to now and there is no way Canada duplicates what they did here..26 total in 2010 and 14 gold.we finished first in Gold in Vancouver..as of now we have 4 gold and even if we win both hockey golds and both curling, still no way come close..

We have 15 total medals now and to be honest I cant see another 11 medals being won by Canada.........the Netherlands won 8 medals in Vancouver and already have 17.

Just thought it was interesting, and who knows what could happen.

I would consider the Sochi Olympics a success for Canada. Just goes to show how incredibly well Canada performed in Vancouver. Tough to ever replicate again.
