Although to be fair to Bitcoin, I remember when it first came out. Back then I always told people over the internet that it would always be worthless and that it would eventually be forgotten about and then abandoned. Whoops, my bad.

Just wondering what contributions to the game has he made?
- Best backhander in the league. Kids are starting to go back to straighter blades because of Crosby.
- Helped grow the game. His jersey is the number 1 seller as per NHL.com.
- Non-hockey fans like stars. Crosby attracts non-hockey fans and turns them into hockey fans. Games need super-stars.
- He is well spoken and humble which makes him an ideal 'ambassador' for the game. He shows that he lets his skill speak for himself, which IMO is a good role model.

I love the canucks first and foremost but I love the game as well and respect the hell out of sidney for his contributions to our game.
Drove me nuts listening to the Ovie versus Crosby debates a few years ago. Why can't people like both players, they are both amazing to watch. If you don't appreciate Crosby's game, you don't appreciate hockey. He has the best backhander in the history of the NHL.

Malkin has already looked more noticeable than Crosby.
This is why you should stick to just posting links. You commentary on the game is garbage. Its been 10 minutes into the game. Crosby has 60 points on the year. Getting outplayed by Malkin isn't like its some glaring insult anyway. Malkin outplays any given guy on the Canucks almost every night.

Crosby had 1 point in Canadas last 3 games. He was terrible - one of our worst players. He got one lucky bounce in over time.... FFS stop crowning him.
Getzlaf, Perry, Boyle, Weber, and most importantly Luongo were the stars.
So sick of people crowning Crosby. He was invisible.
Captain Canada? More like Captain Disappearing Act. He's counting his lucky stars Luongo wont be playing tomorrow to embarass him as he usually does.

The only guy that I would stand up an argue about is Rick Nash. Giroux, St. Louis, and Seguin were all guys that I would take over him.
Carter and Marleau are surprises, but not like they aren't good players. Both have size and speed. I'm interested to see how Yzerman and co have the lines. I'm sure they already made them.

Carter was a bit of a surprise, but as we saw two games ago, he is a game breaker. What a shot.
Marleau also a surprise, and pissed they chose Nash. Leaving off good young players.

I agree but Nash has experience. And was an integral part in vancouver.
But that was four years ago. Canada made the mistake of relying on experience in 2006. Guys like Lu, Toews, Crosby, Doughty have enough experience at this level to help the inexperienced guys along.

Pierre LeBrun: Couture will have surgery wednesday on injured hand and is expected to be out 3-4 weeks. Olympics still a possibility.

Team isn't going to be getting any help any time soon. Gillis will not/cannot do anything, so the team has to pull itself up by the bootstraps.
- More intensity needed from the Sedins (go to 3:10):
- Garrison needs to use his size and start protecting the front of the net better (same can be said for almost all D-men except maybe Stanton).
-Booth needs to play with the same intensity he showed in the LA series two years ago.
- Kassian needs to not only show up for his teammates in games against bigger teams like LA/Anaheim but also initiate physical play.
- Kevin Bieksa needs to take off his casual Kevin cape and bring back the superman punch.
- Higgins, Hansen, Santo need to win more battles along the boards
- Tanev, Sestito, Richardson need to keep playing consistently
Unless the team starts making changes within, nothing is going to change.

I think Lu will be safe. He's worth the risk. Even if he is injured, you're still going to have two elite goalies that can come in. Price/Smith are capable, it is not like teams need a third netminder anyway.
