3-1 Canucks, Garland

Solid outing, great effort but still a lot to tighten up in our own end, there were a fair few quality chances against, need to tidy that up. Some rest, practice with the new guys and hopefully put in the same effort next game.

Came to read about Ethan Bear and as usual way too many pages of 2 people blah blah blahing because neither one can imagine they are wrong or allowing someone to get the last word. Mods should really have a function of telling folks like this to take it to a private conversation rather than letting a thread go way off topic like this.

Maybe we'll get to hear less moaning about Mikheyev now. Bloody hell, the guy comes back from injury and is expected to score 40 in 3 games. Loved the effort, leave it all on the ice every game, Miller sacrificing the body was great to see.

Anyone who has played in net knows you need to get back in the net after a loss. Hopefully Demko sees a lot of shots from the perimeter so he can finally find his rhythm

I don't believe we watched the same game. 3 shots. 3. The Canucks didn't hold their own, they got owned. Canes didn't need to push and still had a lot of pressure for the rest of the game. We got a lucky goal to make it look close and a disallowed goal to make it closer. 16 shots in total, you aren't winning in the NHL with 16 shots on net. I know people want to remain positive but let's call this what it is, an unacceptable repeat of the throw up worthy 3rd periods we have seen every night from this group. Outscored 15-2 in 3rd periods and we've only played 7 games? We are averaging a little more than 2 goals against in 1/3 of the periods, that is just crap. There is nothing positive about that effort in a tie game in the 3rd, looking for your 1st win of the season.

Rebounds would just go to the other team, I didn't see many Canuck jerseys in the middle of the ice or around the crease, the boys have been playing perimeter hockey all season so far. Back to basics is needed, drive to the net and score a few off the bodies. We need some dirty, hard working goals.

Standouts: None Players to blame: All. Win a facking faceoff ffs guys. Shoot the puck and actually hit the damn net. Skate the whole time you're on the ice, if you're tired GTFO the ice. Hard up the boards in the defensive zone, not the offensive zone. STOP PINCHING WHEN YOU ARE THE ONLY PLAYER BETWEEN YOU AND YOUR GOALIE. These guys are trying to do to much way too often. Back to basics practice needed.

Wow, this team is bad at every facet of the game after 1 period

The play is preseason sloppy but it feels like the boys are actually playing for each other tonight. I'm liking the effort so far.

Feels a lot like a 4-0 loss but because of that will turn into a 3-2 win. We hold the 3-2 lead through the entire third period just so we can all have a few dozen heart attacks during all the high quality chances the Canes will have in the 3rd. Demko 40+ saves.

100% disagree with you but then again I'm not a cheerleader. It's been 10 years, there is patience and there is stupidly hopeful, you might be on the wrong side of that line.

Weird, I said before the season started that our defense was garbage and it was pointed out to me that we had 2 #1 defensemen in Hughes and OEL, and the rest were all top 4s. The defense is garbage, we really should have traded Miller to boost the back end. Demko is looking ordinary and that is because he is being ventilated by high end chances almost every shift. Miller isn't worth anything right now so can't trade him, the only players who would garner a decent return (before the Canucks became desperate, now everyone will be dealing with us from a position of power) would be Horvat, Pettersson and Hughes, none of which I would recommend trading unless the management decides to go scorched earth and rebuild with hopefully Bedard as the centerpiece. This is a horrible place to be, when you look in the rearview and realize the best moves you could have made should have been made and now you see that there is nothing to grab onto while you are falling off a cliff.

Some people, weak people hear that and crumble, some of us hear that and focus, succeed and throw to Stone Cold salute. Seems like most of the boys go cry in a corner instead of hitting Bruce with a stunner.

Fleury always plays excellent vs the Canucks. I doubt we score. Team breaks out by not giving up a lead but straight loses 3-0.

Ok so Boeser is the new whipping boy coming off an injury and no pre-season. The defense is getting a free pass after allowing 14 goals against in 3 games. Boeser is going to be much better once he gets up to game speed, I'm happy with him having 3 pts at this stage, the goals will come to him soon. The following players need to play harder and be better: VANCOUVER CANUCKS Collectively they have crapped the bed and are currently rolling in it together.

3 Games, 14 goals against. Good thing our defense is so good.
