  1. This is actually really cool. Don't mind those hating on it as you can tell they are people who know literally nothing about it and are responding in a dated old school manner. Most people don't realize many of these games got better viewership than many hockey games get and it sustained all season. The leagues first season exceeded expectation and they were able to triple the team buy in price to 60 million per team. Making the teams city based really gave a good foundation for the market. I personally don't think it will appeal to an old school crowd but its set up to thrive with people under 30 particularly early 20s and teens. I watched a lot of OWL in season 1 as I am from Philadelphia and it really grew on me. It also found its spot in the city. The banners on the stadiums included the Fusion's logo and local bars would host viewing parties for the games same as any other sport. The Championship at Barclay's center sold out almost instantly and they packed out the Xfinity center for the viewing here in Philly. The only real difference compared to other sports is the crowd was overall younger. Of course a lot of that hype came from the team doing well. As for Vancouver's team I am interested in seeing how they do though I am unsure how good they are. My guess would be middle to lower seed playoff team. Signing the entire RunAway squad sounds good on paper but keep in mind last season Seoul Dynasty signed the entire Lunatic Hai squad who were the best South Korean contenders team and people thought they would easy win run the league but they fell apart and missed the playoffs entirely they were the biggest disappointment of season 1. London who won it signed a bunch of players from 2 different teams and found a mix of them worked well on the other side though. South Korea contenders is also taking a backseat to North America Contenders as well because NA has all the OWL contenders teams in it and many of those teams like Fusion University just sign a lot of the best talent that isn't eligible for OWL yet. For example WhoRU and Alarm who are both regarded as better than most OWL players but are underaged. Vancouver is also bringing back players like Hooreg for example who played for London last year and really didn't play that great before being released by the team and signing with RunAways. You could make a strong case that they could have signed better individuals from a variety of teams as many higher touted DPS players were available around contenders. Ether way it certainly wont be as bad as Shanghai's 1st season I am excited to see the new teams and which ones surprise.
  2. Oh it's always been that way. The Lakers, Spurs, and LeBron's team have won 14 of the last 19 championships. Before that it was the Bulls and now we are seeing the Warriors. Saying fans would love LA and Boston as super teams is debatable. They are large markets and their fans and bandwagon fans would love it sure but I doubt fans of other teams would. I certainly wouldn't like it. Though my point was even if the players accept far worse travel situations it ruins the rest of the leagues competition. The reason to do it is because bad teams in the East are making playoff spots while decent Western teams miss. Putting all the teams in one pool does give you a more accurate playoff pool but it also puts more teams out of the contention picture faster. Management will be able to call it a season much faster and fans of those teams will lose interest faster. Additionally the scheduling would limit rivalries which are more expensive sells and typically better games. This is of course my opinion but I feel it would just split the league even more in talent.
  3. Kaplan did acknowledge Hog was in a bad place. Though I doubt he is ever reverted to one of his old forms it sounds like he will get a buff eventually.
  4. Personally I don't think that will happen in terms of all of them going to LA but it's possible. I would hate to see it happen though. I have doubts the NBA will get rid of conferences though. It would be bad for travel and most players would probably dislike the change. It also may continue to feed the tanking problem and lack of competitive games. More deserving teams would make it but bad Eastern teams that would have previously been fighting for a spot would lose all reason to try.
  5. Best passer ever based on 1 summer league game? this hurts my soul.
  6. Even with PG13 being a potential rental that was a pretty weak return for Indiana. They may have made out better if they waited until the deadline and moved him to a team looking to put themselves over the top. I may be in the minority but while I feel the move is good for OKC I don't think they will be any better than they were last year.
  7. In all fairness Sasha is not the best example as she is also one of the most botch happy women in the division but she gets over because of her popularity. But this point is accurate. Wrestling is a scripted performance not that far off from theater. Nia isn't getting a main role yet because she's not a good performer yet. I do agree on that. Something about him is just very lackluster to me even when he's crushing people with forklifts or assaulting them after the match.
  8. -vomits- Edge and Lita were at least good wrestlers and Edge could work the mic. I think Carmella has done great alone recently. I am fine with Big Cass getting a push but I have doubts about his abilities. He could also be in better shape. He is pretty basic for a big guy. I do however think Enzo should be moved to 205 live. That last match was fine. Nia entered first and still looks strong because she ran through everyone before losing to the last entry. Fatigue is a reasonable factor to sell. A lot of her matches have been decided dirty, she has only lost clean when they were trying to push someone else if I am not mistaken. They also may be saving Nia for Summerslam as they are obviously avoiding a lot of the most wanted matches now. With that said Nia was called up way to early. She is a very entertaining wrestler given her power but she is also extremely sloppy/dangerous.
  9. Personally I don't think it would be. LiAngelo isn't much of a prospect. Being a Ball may be the only reason he gets a chance on an NBA roster. LaMelo is at least considered a legit prospect currently but not as good as Lonzo and also plays the same position as Lonzo. Additionally he is a bit of a weird prospect when you actually watch his games. You can tell he has a degree of talent but the crazy numbers are much more understandable when you see the footage. LaMelo gets a lot of his points off cherry picking and when he does actually attempt to play defense it's scary bad. People get caught up on the 92 points but don't seem to remember all the other high school players who have scored around that amount or more in a game and how few of them were relevant as professionals. With that said he is still 15 and may develop fine but he really doesn't look like he's currently ahead of the curve when you look at his complete game. Plus as mentioned even if he is legit his fit on the Lakers would be weird. Plus keep in mind there is still a very realistic chance Lonzo busts. Though personally I think Lonzo is really the only serious prospect in that family.
  10. What team would be dumb enough to take that horrendous contract?
  11. I don't think the players will be to bad. A lot of players technically have targets on their back and far worse things are said on the court. However if Lonzo doesn't live up to the hype which is extremely possible the media/fans will be a lot to handle. Even in hockey which is a much small market you see stories of not as known players who struggle in big cities say going out can be mentally draining because fans will let them hear it. His name could easily become a joke for decades. I don't personally see him being a great player but I think he will be above average.
  12. Unfortunately Pharah isn't OP but can be based on a players rank. Lower rank DPS players on console often have poor aim or simply don't know they need to prioritize her so characters like Pharah with any form of healing even outside of Mercy can terrorize the ranks though at the higher ranks its a fairly easily countered character outside of Pharah based maps. Console in general can be pretty sloppy until high Diamond though so I can understand why people get frustrated. 76 and McCree are pretty hard counters to her though. Running a 4DPS line up and being unable to kill Pharah is unfortunately more of a testament to the players on DPS than Pharah herself. I would have recommended having your Hanzo and Widow play tanks (you need tanks in this game) and having Mercy and Zen on heals. Have Zen discord her (Mercy 1st if PharMercy) and Mercy damage boost your 76 or even McCree. If your hitscans still can't handle it then shuffle your players and let someone else play DPS.
  13. That trade would never happen. Mozgov has negative value, teams are literally requesting they send picks or young players with Moz just for them to take him lol. PG did shoot his value in the foot by basically announcing he will opt out and go to LA but he isn't going to be given away for nothing. He is still a very good rental player and odds are they will flip him by the trade deadline to a team looking to make a big run. If that is all it takes to get him the Cavs would easily top that offer for example. Or even Boston who has 200 draft picks in the next few years. Deng is also in a similar to Moz now where LA is trying to move him but teams want picks or young players to eat his awful contract. Even so if this happened LA would not be a playoff team next season. Likely not even close. That team has a lot of potential but given development they aren't even better than the Pacers team PG is currently on not to mention the lack of depth that team has on the bench. It's also wishful thinking that Ball (despite his fathers rants) will be an immediate difference maker. He is still a 19/20 year old rookie with a lot he needs to work on including his shot, not to mention he struggled repeatedly against some of the better players in the NCAA. The Lakers are improving but still have a long way to go. Keep in mind just how bad they were last season. PG will better them but not by that wide a margin.
  14. Just wanted to correct the trade information. Philly is giving up 2 picks not 3. Boston Receives: - #3 overall pick (2017) *- LA's 2018 1st round pick (Boston only receives this pick if it falls between selections 2-5) *- SAC's 2019 1st round pick (Boston only this pick if they don't get the LA pick. It is reported this pick also has protections at least protecting the #1 pick though this picks details have yet to be released) Philadelphia Receives: - #1 overall pick (2017) It does put Philly in a very good place though. Fultz should be a perfect compliment to Simmons and Embiid. Additionally they have more strong young talent in Saric and TLC who both ended the season very strong getting Philly unseen wins when Embiid and Simmons were out. They also have Korkmaz (1st round pick compared to Gordon Hayward) who has been playing overseas yet to join them. It should also be noted that even with this trade Philadelphia still has 6 1st round picks over the next 4 years with at least 1 in each year. Not to mention they currently have the most cap space and may try to make a big signing while they have these rookie contracts. Philly's big concern is health but if the players hold up they should emerge quickly as a contender.
  15. Kings Get: - Buddy Hield (23 year old #6 pick) - Tyreke Evans (expiring contract) - Langston Galloway (1 more year on contract) - 2017 1st Round Pick (top 3 protected, currently looks like it will be a mid round pick) - 2017 2nd Round Pick Pelicans Get: - DeMarcus Cousins - Omri Casspi In 2015's offseason.... Kings Get: - Artūras Gudaitis - Luka Mitrović *This was a cap dump which they freed around 15 million with which was used to sign Rondo for 1 year. 76ers Get: - Nik Stauskas (21 year old #8 pick) - Carl Landry - Jason Thompson - Rights to swap 1st round picks in 2016 and 2017's drafts (unprotected) - 2018 1st round pick (unprotected) The 76ers got a better return for Cap Space than the Kings got for Cousins.... Additionally none of this even makes sense. Before last season they said they want to build around Cousins so they trade all those assets to clear cap to bring in help and they bring in Rondo of all people for 1 season. They then give up on this a year later and even after Cousins says he wants to stay and resign in Sac they trade him for a light return. To make things worse the tanking makes little sense given Philadelphia owns your 2018 pick and can take your 2017 pick. It's like they are trying to replicate the current Nets rebuild. The Kings are basically doing the 76ers tanking for them now.
  16. Meanwhile Embiid continues to train
  17. Did the Rays give him anything yet? You know like a Kayak plus $50 for every hit he had against them over the many years of beating down their terrible team?
  18. Farewell tours are the dumbest things I have ever seen. Watching a team give up on a season to let an over the hill player play like trash while being showered in expensive gifts from millionaire/billionaires. Half of them arent even good gifts like when Jeter got that ugly ass kayak he will never use or Kobe getting a car that will sit in his garage as a collectible. It is nice to have someone retire modestly and not have a kiss my feet because I played a sport tour.
  19. xD Garo is trash. Pats are a well coached team though they won't put the pressure on a trash QB like that. If they go 3-1 it will be because they have a top 10 defense and only face 1 strong in the 1st 4.
  20. Well the NBA is a more condensed. Smaller teams and only 2 rounds in the draft plus starters get more court time (usually about 36 minutes). 1st round picks are more disposable. Philadelphia during the tanking years literally made trades where they took 1st round picks (and sometimes 2nd round) from other teams just to buyout players for other teams. The Kings sent Stauskas (8th overall pick from the year before) along with a 2018 1st round pick, and the right to swap 1st round picks in 2016 and 2017 to Philadelphia so they would take the contracts of Jason Thompson and Carl Landry. Philly sent back 2 players who were overseas and likely won't ever play in the NBA. Kinda crazy. Like all drafts it produced a good players it's just considered a weak draft by comparison. The year before produced players like Anthony Davis, Damian Lilliard, Draymond Green, Andre Drummond, and Bradley Beal. Though the year after that is hard to judge yet outside of them being younger a lot of that class had injury issues. Parker had the torn ACL, Embiid hasn't played yet, Saric was overseas for 2 years, Randle missed a season. TBH that doesn't surprise me the Nets are desperate now. They have no high end prospects and can't sign any big free agents and worst of all they traded their 1st round picks for the next two years away so the Celtics are taking their high draft picks hence the #3 this past draft and maybe even the top pick next year given how bad they look again xD
  21. Oden was the biggest NBA prospect since LeBron James. Some even thought better. But yes injury ruined is career. As far as Bennett goes tough as bad as he was that was an extremely weak draft class. Not a single all star or even all NBA team player in that draft class so far. Gobert taken late is likely the best player in that class followed by the Greek Freak and possibly Nerlens Noel at 3rd. Noel was the highest rated prospect in that class and only fell because he was injured and set to miss his first year but even he wasn't a great prospect compared to other classes ranks
  22. Stauskas played his first game this year yesterday in Summer League and he still looks like he shouldn't be in the NBA. At the very least he will probably have a successful hot sauce company after his career ends.
  23. Posted on Wiki shortly after the Grant poster dunk xD Zubac looks pretty good though outside of this. The Dunk for reference.
