  1. Aqua has stated Benning makes all the decisions and that he supports him Why do some think it is not Jim's choice? You are defending JB or think Aqua says that to throw JB under the bus with all the bad moves?
  2. How many buyouts or picks given away to get rid of players he had just signed? Not that great Then saying signing Green this summer was a high priority
  3. Going into the summer Benning said it was a high priority to have signed Travis Green
  4. Our core is not ready I wonder what it would cost for us to get LE, Beagle, Roussel and more to shelter them from losing? Darn, that never worked either, we still were losing We need Hannibal Smith running the team I love it when a plan comes together kinda guy
  5. Yes it sure was fun, but never in the history of the Canucks even with bad teams has it taken this long to rise from the bottom of there division and they never were at league bottom for such extended play of missing the playoffs as much as they have , he got to even spend to the cap each season in charge and you say JB did a better job than expected?
  6. Is that monkey still available that was being advocated? Seriously I don't even care now, until i see effort or major change from the play of the team I will put in the same amount of effort to watch, that the product on the ice is providing
  7. Or maybe the players lifted the ban on Fortnite and are preoccupied with playing games instead of hockey, now that they are paid well and distracted by wealth and just have fun They look like they have lost their pride, drive and commitment (they tried for 2 periods last game) Penguins played Jets tonight, come out hard again The schedule has helped us recently, but the results won't concur
  8. Guys there is no denying JB Canucks have had the worse results ever in the history of the team Lets break it down Team Conference Standing 70-74 - from 6th to 1st overall 76-80- 4th to 2nd 84-91- 5th to 1st 97-01- 7th to 2nd 05-06 - 4th-1st 07-08 5th- 1st 13-14 - 5th- 2nd 15-20 - 6th,7,7,5,3,7th PLAYOFF QUALIFYING 70-73- Not qualify 76-77- Not qualify 84 - Not qualify 86,87 - Not qualify 89- Not qualify 96-00- Not qualify 05 - Not qualify 07 - Not qualify 13 - Not qualify 15- Not qualify 16 - Not qualify 17- Not qualify 18 - Not qualify 19 - Had to qualify 20 - Not qualify 21 - Looks like another Not qualify No way just because a GM kept our team down as long as he has to get high draft picks in EVERY single round and had way more chances than everyone (but Quinn as GM) that you can put him as one of the best GM's ! In 50 years the Canucks qualified for Playoffs 27 x, plus one they had to qualify for ThIs futility has never been as bad or as long in the History of the Canucks
  9. He has had a LOT more kicks at the can being a GM other than Quinn % wise not great No GM kept the Canucks down as long ever
  10. How Good? We should be better than what we are ! But Canuck fans should be use to losing since joining the NHL Canucks are the third team from the ALL TIME NHL Team bottom of winning % Only Coyotes ..009% behind us and Kraken and yet we have never had a #1 overall pick I guess it is ok to only say At least we aren't the Coyotes or Kraken at this stage
  11. One thing i know he is good at is keeping this team at the bottom of the league standings, while always trying not too This is just another year with the same results (Although i was hoping for more)
  12. It is baffling They are well paid set for life already at such a young age without even signing more contracts Get their attitudes together and get to work earning it now
  13. Remember many years ago under Benning when we were at the bottom (still are) and he was outbidding every team for veteran help and giving up draft picks (instead of cheaper veterans with good attitudes that would get the same results) in order to shelter our younger guys Many and myself were against it, thinking the timing was wrong How did that work out?
  14. You want the underachievers together on the 1st line? Maybe if they were on the 3rd line they would get easy match ups
  15. Improved for 2 periods It should have been the Hawks that folded in the 3rd after playing the night before and arriving at 1 am They let the Hawks take over the 3rd instead
  16. Lost too many points picking Canucks (looks like my season done winniing here too) Pens 4-2 Kapanen
  17. It's true Professionals and winners don't use excuses ! (What does that say about Canucks Management) That is left for golf hacks like me, who ALWAYS have an excuse for NEVER getting par If only....... My only excuse is i am not committed or good enough to ever get there (and excuses never get you there)
  18. At the same time if it is the players doing this, How would you feel about having them to suffer as the fans have, especially if they blew this opportunity for us to make the playoffs, and kept behaving this way? It won't cause them any harm, they would be toxic already on their own doing this They would deserve to be ridiculed by other Team players Apparently years ago JB went to bat for them to get TT to get them excited about the playoffs and teach them to win Where is the feeling reciprocated back? they will cost him his job doing this, they couldn't care and respect him much ? Also IF the playoffs are out of reach now, Do we really want the team winning a few more games to lose a higher draft? Another option is (if it is the players) might be: Find out the ones who are not playing for their money, team mates, and fans and move them out for the best trade or draft picks Guys like that are not team players The thing that baffles me is If they had said at year end meetings that they had any issues with the coach, why did Benning and Aqua still hire him for another 2 years? If that was the case, then both of them do not know how to run a team and deserve failure (unfortunately that affects us) Question There is no NFL or Baseball here so people become fans of other teams So does one become a fan of the local team, just because a team is here? Even though you might despise the Owner, Gm and coaches? If the players that represent your city are indeed quitters and are an embarrassment and reflection on your city What keeps someone as a fan of the team in that case? Since Covid i hardly follow any sports other than the Canucks, (which at times is just in the background sometimes) When younger i was a fan of sports and would watch any team play, because i enjoyed watching the sports and players pride, commitment and love for the game and not just focus on how much money they can make and maybe not play for the team but themselves- Canucks have had only the usual handful care about effort- money takes away from the sports now I would rather do something entertaining or play a sport or hobby instead Covid did have us learn to live our lives without hockey and now apathy for the team is a sad thing A smart businessman won't let this happen and i expect changes soon Who can truly say this team is only 1-2 years away ? We have no idea who will even be here then because it is so unstable My dad was a huge Canucks fan from opening day and the head of his 24 employees, from the first Canucks playoffs the workers would all bet the Canucks would lose in the playoffs, and he would make that bet with each and every one of them every year up until 2014. I feel i will follow in his footsteps and never see this team win now myself
  19. Maybe a 4th soon Wish we could put him in Abbotsford to get his game back
  20. I was disappointed when he went in the corner and instead of hitting the d man hard to cause a turnover , he brakes and barely touches him, sending a message i won't hit you, so don't hit me - his heart and pride do not appear to be in it You say trade him, he is useless If he was we would not get anything in a trade anyways I believe we can get something of value in return
  21. I wasn't debating if Green should remain the coach or not Just your assumption that everyone but Clarke and Shaw should be fired I agree that Clarke should remain based on his body of work But I question the devotion towards Shaw and if he should remain over all others, after all (we were bad last year but never were this bad till he came) I don't know for sure if Shaw or Green should be fired At year end meetings, the players must not had had issue with Green or he would not have been resigned for 2 years I am sure people are aware of what the problem is and hopefully will be corrected Hansen went as far t say it doesn't matter who is coaching it is the personel Sounds like Hansen leaning towards the GM's responsibility to provide the players who can do the job with pride and skill Sounds like it is a mix of everything with no quick fix or one person responsible A team consists of everyone working TOGETHER to achieve a "goal' Something is obviously wrong Why not put Benning in charge, and get his guys to play like Quinn and other Gms have?
  22. You should read a whole comment and not pretend i said that is what i wanted I never said it was a good idea to put the 4th line on the PP or the PK on the PP I ASKED you if that was a good idea using YOUR logic that it couldn't be any worse I am NOT defending Green, but I am NOT blindly supporting Shaw either from what i read and see If You want to go ahead, No need to get emotional about it I shared my opinion, unless someone convinces me otherwise It is what it is and done with it BTW The shootout was implemented in the year of his Interim Coach duty in 2005/06 You are the one selling Shaw because he can do no worse
  23. Only that I have seen Clarke as a reason to keep, but i have not seen a reason to keep Shaw if you let Green go I think Benning and Green will go at the same time, when that time comes and then the GM will pick his coach Change because it cant be worse you say?, then why don't we just staple our 4th line to the PP and have our 1st line kill penalties, because it could actually do no worse either ? If our coach did that would you support it? As i stated i am not supporting or asking for his firing Just simply going on what Shaw himself stated were to be his responsibilities and even calling himself the associate coach without the title Shaw said Green was looking for new ideas and voice, so Green was looking for something different than what was happening with Brown Before Shaw came on board, our stars were at least stars , hopefully by now they know what the issue is and it is corrected Looking at his interim before almost 1/2 his wins were in s.o, the others were mostly 2-1 scores which leads me to think that our stars are not interested in that and why they are struggling Not saying my opinion is the right one, i am just stating my opinion on why I don't want Shaw to be the guy promoted If you feel the need for me to change my opinion, i am always open to that, but just saying he can't be worse is not the reason for me to change mine
