The agents and the players can't be blamed for the owners throwing stupid contracts at them. If the highest bid wasn't so ridiculous, they would still take the deal. The owners and teams have created this problem themselves.
If the league didn't have to compensate by throwing money at the pit that is the Pheonix Coyotes then division of revenue wouldn't be such an issue. The sport is made by the players not by bureaucrats who don't understand the sport.
