IMO I highly doubt there is anything to worry about. Last I heard Sven was working out hard in Vancouver for next season. Both sides are just trying to come to a deal that works for them both and they have 3 months to do it. I haven't heard one rumor that Sven is unhappy here. Better for both sides to take there time get a deal that works for both parties. As much as we want the Canucks to get the best deal, anyone that has worked for a company and has felt undervalued losses there motivation. I think its in the best interest for the Canucks to give contracts that keep the players happy but aren't so good that they lose there hunger to try to get a better contract next time. Its a fine balance and they still have lots of time to find it.

I can't come up with a good reason why we wouldn't resign Schroeder I think he made 600k last year so his qualifying offer would be 660k if I'm not mistaken. Kesler had some stinkers there when he was hurt and he is an established player. Its got to be hard when everything is going against you. Your small, injured on a bad team and the coach doesn't want to play you much. I think you have to resign him and give him at least half a season to try to prove he belongs. We have nothing to lose. We are going to be a bad team for a long time or we will continue to trade our future so we can be average and then be bad for a very long time. The tank is empty on this team, we need to refill the tank and trading young players or just letting them walk isn't going to help. People need to jump off the bandwagon or buckle there seatbelts cause this is going to be a bumpy ride.

Lets say we trade Kesler to Anahiem for the 10th 24th and a prospect. Then trade Edler plus the 24th plus Schroeder or someone of simular value to either Buffalo or Florida for the 1st or 2nd. That would leave us with 1/2 overall pick, the 6th and 10th. That would be a hell of a start to our rebuild if you ask me. That would be no small feat but we know from experience its possible think 1999. I doubt it will happen but could you imagine the buzz in Vancouver after that draft.

Ehlers looks like an exciting player. I don't know if he will be able to play his game in the NHL but if he can and we draft him, he sure looks like a fun player to watch and IMO we haven't had anyone truly fun to watch since Bertuzzi. The Sedins are extremely skilled players but but after a decade of watching pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, shoot, pass, pass, pass, score. I would love to watch someone with break away speed who actually has a chance to score.

I think Gaunce will probably top out at 35-40 points a season but I think he is the kind of guy who helps win championships. He seems to me that he is the guy that will score the goal when the team really needs one. Every once in awhile I get an intuition about a player and I have a really good feeling about Gaunce. When the chips are down I'm putting my money on this kid. I know this doesn't prove anything other then making me sound like a whack job but 5 years ago I was in South beach and for some reason I kept thinking I was going to see Dana White 2 days later I was in the hotel swimming pool and in jumps Dana White and his hot Girlfriend. I don't believe in God or Ghosts but I do believe in my mind and its telling me Guance is going to be a hockey hero one day, I just hope its here in Vancouver. I never played hockey nor do I think that I am a great analyzer of talent but I had the same feeling about Burrows way back in the day when he was playing with Kesler on the 3rd. That being said I never got that feeling about Kesler so......
