I rarely listen to any rock/metal after about 1986.....unless it's a new album by one of those bands.

There really are a ton of fantastic underground artists out nowadays. You should do some exploring of more recent music. The internet makes this easier than ever.

Edit: No love for ...And Justice For All? Really?

Slayer is the exception to the rule.....and World Painted Blood was ****ing awesome, but I never was that big of a Metallica fan, because they never gave credit to bands like Accept for influencing their sound.

Metallica gives tons of bands credit for influencing them. They've talked plenty of times about what metal bands they listened to in their formative years. Never heard of them mentioning Accept in particular, but I don't hear any more Accept in Metallica's music than I do many other NWOBHM and classic heavy metal bands. Either way, I don't see why them crediting influences or not should have any bearing on your enjoyment of the music.

And while we're on the subject of Metallica, I might as well give a couple of their songs a listen.
