Bronyaur
VIC, here are a couple that I would put into the same category. Pain of Salvation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rgl0Vs-2Wdk If exploring them further, be careful. Their most recent couple albums are quite different (and in my mind not as good). Still, their first 4 or 5 were sublime. Porcupine Tree. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BeTvsGkQdJc These guys are quite diverse. They go from metal to rock to ambient. Very eclectic. Sorry it took me a while to out these up. I got distracted. I hope to put up more another time. Link to comment

It had it's moments, but most of the time I didn't find it overly enjoyable. Fear of a Blank Planet is in my music library already and it's an awesome song. Edit: figure I might as well post what I'm listening to Edited September 3, 2010 by VICanucksfan5551 Link to comment
Bronyaur
Man, VIC, it is so hard to find something that sounds like Riverside. It's easy to find something in the same genre, but that is far from saying they sound alike, particularly with those familiar with the genre. Here's another try. Definitely some similarities: Thought Chamber Link to comment

Definitely some similarities: Thought Chamber Sounds decent. It's often pretty tough to find parallels between progressive bands because the genre by definition is pretty inventive and unique. I know I'd have trouble finding sound-alike bands for most of the progressive stuff I listen to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTlLVQIrlfg Link to comment
