Can't believe she only wins one game the entire match. I don't get it. Where do you live? The match was over for a while, and they had already gone into the Nadal match. They are taped replays that I watch because the matches go late into the night here. TSN2 usually replays them. Nadal just closed out his match against Kohlschreiber. luineul Posted January 23, 2010 Share Posted January 23, 2010 Haven't been able to catch ANY of the AO yet and, like someone else stated, it's been one of my favorite tournaments to watch in the past (probably because it was Andre's best). Appreciate the updates here - am hoping to catch some of it. Glad to see we have tennis fans here - hey luineul, knew I could count on you. Tennis is a sport which deserves more attention imo. Too bad the tourneys are all over the world and rarely within a time zone in close proximity... lol. Nothing like staying up til 4 in the morning to watch an insane match though lol. Funny, I used to always wonder why his parents weren't at his matches...makes sense now. One part of the book describes how, as a young boy, his Dad used to make him hit 2,500+ balls every single day. There would be so many balls on the court he'd be tripping on them, but his Dad just insisted he continue. He modified a leaf blower so he could blow them off the court. Fernando made 81 unforced errors in 5 sets. I didn't know there were Verdasco fans, lol. Davydenko is like the new Andre Agassi. He's coming off a win to Federer too so it could get real exciting. The draw for the quarters is completely loaded, except for maybe Cilic, because I wanted del Potro to come up. Murray v. Nadal should be a real classic. It's so sad! And wow... I had no idea Del P lost out to Cilic. That's kinda lame. I watched the first 2 sets or something and Juan Martin was doing just fine... You'll get to catch the daytime matches at primetime, although there's not many of those left. Like I said before, I didn't realize you could jump on a Verdasco bandwagon. Are there really that many people who follow them? I mean, if you like him you would pick Nadal over Federer, because of the similarities in their playing style. For a crappy player bandwagon, I was kind of thinking of Robin Soderling. He would be the ideal underdog bandwagon guy to join. I don't like Marin Cilic very much. He doesn't seem like a very respectable tennis player and reminds me of Andy Murray, another guy I don't really like. I really wanted a good British player, and you get this hot-headed ugly guy. Looks like Henin's in the semis. Not a lot of respect for her either because of her distance from the fans. But she is like a tiny version of Roger Federer, so there's no overlooking there. Saw that decent match yesterday that Cilic won and was watching the Murray/Nadal match today. It's pretty entertaining! I really got into it. At age 21 to go up 2 sets to 0 against one of the best in the world, only to have that player come back so convincingly but still win in the 5th set is a show of mental strentgh. Cilic isn't hot headed either if you were comparing him to Murray in that way as well. He's very composed throughout his matches. Murray is clearly the better player and has looked impressive thus far in not even dropping a set. Like you said though, his hot head gets the best of him late in tournaments. It looked like a pretty good match going on but the grunting really turned me off. It was too much of a distraction and quite annoying. Bad porn stars don't sound that awful. They were wondering if Azarenka(the Belarus girl) should be allowed to have such loud and long grunts because it may distract the other player. There's this one girl from Portugal who moans the entire match. When she hits, she'll moan for like 2 whole seconds, and when the ball comes back, oh my goodness. She's not very good though, so it never presents that much of a problem. People who bageled her would complain at the press conference, but she's too crappy.
