I can play any song by Boston or the tragically hip as only two strings are required.

if you tune each of the two strings to the required notes you don't even have to finger the frets.B)

You'd need at least 3 if you don't want to fret, Tragically Hip tunes usually have a minimum of 3 chords.

Just played through Ahead By A Century & Blow At High Dough, those 2 would be tricky for me to play properly with only 2 strings, I use all 4 for those ones! New Orleans I just did with 2 strings, you have to move around the fret board quite a bite more,  but it's doable!

Here's another gig jem

That is a beaut' Rickenbaker.  Man that make nice guitars.

its funny cos blow at high dough was the song I was thinking of - mainly the verse parts.  I was kind of joking in my earlier post but it's pretty close.  Music made for bars.  That's for sure.

back in '97 I was in Perth, Australia. Was at this bar one night as I was due to play a song as a guest in my friends band there.  Anyway, the band that was ahead of us was a Trag. Cover band.  Lol. The singer/guitarist was Canadian but had the rest of his bandmates all learned up on Canadian content.  Was a pretty surreal experience.  It was fun being a part of a show with Aussie friends and a fellow Canuck there as well.

Yeah, I'm fairly fortunate to own some sexy basses! Patience and always looking are the tips I have for gettin' great guitars. Funnily enough, I bought that Ric in Vancouver after a trip out in which I caught 2 Canucks games (losses, one was the return of Lou against the Coyotes after his long groin injury) in 2009. It was last minute, spur of the moment as the L&M was recently moved and was right beside the bus terminal. I literally bought the bass, and hightailed it to catch the bus for my flight home.

The verse & chorus does really only need 1 string (I still use 2), but it's the intro riff that the other 2 strings are needed. I mean, it can be done without them, but it's a pain & doesn't sound as good IMO.

What instrument(s) do you play? Next time you're back out here we'll go to a jam, crush a few tunes on stage!
