Ugli Fruit
This is a BIG factor in both our PP and our general ability to score. For some reason, our D-men have struggled to get pucks on net from the point. They rarely shoot and the ones they do shoot are often blocked. Yes it's because LA collapses a lot but this should give time and space to pass it off. The D's puck moving and shots have become worse than bad lately. Get our pointmen going and our PP will jump start because it looks like the main source of goals now is a puck on net and jamming it in from a rebound. Thoughts? Edit: This is the problem with the PP vs the Kings. There is no point in having good puck movement if LA collapses and just blocks the passing lanes. What we can do is either move the puck for hours and hope we get a seam, hope for a bounce or get a point shot that gets through. After this actually happens is when there is reason to crash the net. Another thing: LA collapsing is a natural screen for Quick. puck that gets through might just go in the net too. I actually like Ballard on the point. He is playing with more confidence and is not coughing up the puck really. But the main thing is that he generates chances on the point. He was in on the Pahlsson goal. Tanev's Smirk
Our power play has been awful for months. I'm not going to bet on a two day break to fix it. The team needs to crash the net to get goals.
You Mad Bro?
IF we are to win game 4. We need magic. A massive bone crushing hit. A monster save. A hat trick. Something to get these guys to acually beleive they can win
js604
Well the team isn't setting up plays like they used to, particularly the second line.
Biasbieksa
Just like against Boston, we shoot all these shots from the sides on the wall. With no traffic, and we make the goalie look like a God. We dont crash the net as hard as other teams do. Except maybe Burrows and Hansen
Kryten
Exactly right ^^^ We need more bodies to actually have the cojones to stand in front of the goalie and we need the coach to realize that Edler needs to sit on the bench during the PP and allow a different offensive dman to take over. Thunder Bunnies
1st unit: Sedin - Sedin - Higgins Kesler - Ballard 2nd unit: Burrows - Pahlsson - Booth Salo - Edler
Bissurnette
^^^ how about hamhuis instead of Edler on the second unit... Neither Hamhuis nor Salo are afraid to shoot the puck and they don't make many dumb passes that put the forwards in trouble.
