Lu To Tb For Connolly + 1St (10Th)

Recommended Posts

So lets say TB says no to giving us someone who can make an immediate impact in our line-up (Hedman). They are only a good goalie away from being a cup contender, what more a super star goalie? In that case, TB would have to give up a few future assets in order to contend for the cup now. That being said, I think TB would consider doing something like this:

Lu to TB for Connolly + 1st (10th)

That doesn't clear enough cap space for Tampa, they currently have $3.4M in caps space and they'd be taking on Lu's $5.3M cap hit but only moving $1.6M out in Connelly. Apart from Roloson, all their top guys are signed through next year and it's just depth players making very little that they have to re-sign, which alone will likely cause their cap to increase (or at least stay similar to where it is).

Only Brett Connolly for Lu? Thats quite the underpayment isn't it? Connolly hasn't even made it to their team yet and is still considered a "prospect"

A 6th overall draft pick for a top 5 proven goalie who has been to the SCF and won the Gold medal for Canada...for a prospect who hasn't proven much and hasn't made the team yet?

Tampa values connoly, he will not be moved, they will over that russian namiekov or something like that with a pick.

A superstar usually garnishes you

Roster player

1st round pick

Prospect

Luongo is an older goalie with a bad contract, and he will only get us back a roster player and 2nd round pick.
