Question: Is There Anyway The Canucks Can Call Up Reinprecht Without Him Going Through Re-Entry Waivers?

For Reinprecht, there's no way around it. Although it would be a highly d-bag move for someone to claim him considering he's in the final year of his contract and he wouldn't be able to play for whatever team picks him up.

13.2 The "Playing Season Waiver Period" shall begin on the twelfth (12th) day prior to

the start of the Regular Season and end on the day following the last day of a Club's

Playing Season. Subject to the provisions of this Article, the rights to the services of a

Player may be Loaned to a club of another league, upon fulfillment of the following

conditions, except when elsewhere expressly prohibited:

It's odd that neither MG nor AV seemed to recognize this. They both talked about him like he could potentially come up for the playoffs. Didn't they hire someone specifically to handle cap related issues, and wouldn't someone in management have recognized this?

Yeah, he can really be called up when ever. No one is going to claim him. He can't play for the team that claims him till next season, and he is one the last year of his deal. He is available, but Gillis is happy with his centers.
