Sandro17
Real simple question, Assuming you had to choose between an amazing forward or an amazing defense-man of equal skill from a draft, which of the two roles would you believe is more valuable to a well rounded team with equal offense and defense? Also, is it harder to get a star defenseman (Shea Weber) from a draft as compared to a star forward (Ovechkin)?
Hyzer
It's harder to get good Defencemen than Forwards it seems. but, the disparity between good and great forwards is very large.
goalie13
It is generally recognized that it is best to build a team from the net out. So if everything else was equal, I would take the defenseman over the forward.
-AJ-
I would always pick the defenseman. There are less of them on a team so they play more minutes than forwards.

Bauer1337
As the old saying goes you can never have enough D, id always pick a dman over a forward, Tampa bay has a 60 goal scorer and look how they are...top priorities of a new team 1. get a good goalie 2.dman 3.forwards
Baka
I would take the foward. Offense in it's own way is defense. The best defense is puck control/possession. You can't get scored on while you are on the attack. If a group of forwards fail to maintain a steady attack they render those defenders useless if they are always back in the defensive zone. So I would take the forward on the terms of nether offense or defense is impressive on this team.
