(Proposal) Van-Cbj, Van-Wpg + Signings

Recommended Posts

With the rumours of Evander Kane wanting out of Winnipeg, here is what I thought of:

Trade 1)

To Vancouver: Evander Kane

To Winnipeg: David Booth + Chris Tanev + Manny Malhotra + 2012 2nd

Salary Cap out: Booth (4.25) + Tanev (.9) + Malhotra (2.5) = $7,650,000

Trade 2)

To Vancouver: Rick Nash

To Columbus: Roberto Luongo + Keith Ballard + Mason Raymond + 2013 1st

Salary Cap out: Luongo (5.33) + Ballard (4.2) + Raymond (2.55) = $12,083,333

Total Salary Cap Out ($12,083,333 + $8,550,000) = $20,633,333

Signings/Re-signings:

Cory Schneider: 6 years @ $21 million = $3.5 million per

Evander Kane: 6 years @ $30 million = $5 million per

Ryan Suter: 8 years @ $63 million = $8 million per

Sammy Pahlsson: 1 year @ $2 million

Bryan Allen: 2 years @ $7 million = $3.5 million per

Canucks 2012-13 line-up:

Sedin - Sedin - Nash = $20 million

Burrows - Kesler - E. Kane = $12 million

Higgins - Pahlsson - Jensen = $4.8 million

Kassian - Lapierre - Hansen = $3,080,000

Forwards = $39,880,000

Edler - Suter = $11,250,000

Hamhuis - Bieksa = $9.2 million

Allen - Connauton = $4.4 million

Defense = $24,850,000

Schneider

Lack

Goalies = $4,400,000

Total Salary cap = $69,130,000/$70,300,000

Thoughts?

Columbus is trying to rebuild. Why would they want Luongo over Schneider + an overpaid defender who can play with their other overpaid defender, Wisniewski + a player who can't even stay on his feet + a 26th overall pick? Seriously, it's Nash we're talking about. :picard:

I like your Kane trade! (some of your proposals are up there with Liberace).

Dont think Manny is being shipped anywhere in the package though, nor does he add any incentive to the Jets.

Might take more of a throw in with Booth/Tanev than a 2knd? But they replace a big forward, get a serviceable d man and get a pick. I wonder?

Nash deal, :rolleyes:

The Nash trade would probably require Edler, not Ballard, as the blue jackets need goals and with Edler being such an important part of our power play he would be a must for the trade to go down.

So Take Ballard out of trade 2, insert Edler

Take out Tanev out of trade 1, insert Ballard+2013 3rd

Sign Garrison - Jackman - Allen, get moneys.

It also appears that you can't quite master multiplication in reference towards the Suter deal. 8 x 8 is 64, not 63. This would put us over the cap. Nice try, but you're way off.
