Canada Hockey Place
3-way trades are rare. I know. Just trying to think outside the box. ANA: Luongo, Ballard EDM: Hiller, Sbisa VAN: Gagner, Jones, + (Dubnyk?) Sedin Sedin Burrows Booth Kesler Higgins Jones Gagner Hansen Raymond Malhotra Lapierre Hamhuis Bieksa Edler Salo Garrison Tanev Sauve Schultz Schneider Lack/Dubnyk IMO ANA upgrades in both positions but takes on extra salary. EDM gets a goalie and D the new coach is familiar with. VAN loses IMO but I think the immediate return is better than many of the other proposals including Luongo. And also moves Ballard to make room for Garrison.
Kack Zassian
Meh... to be honest It doesn't really make us that much better. Props for originality though
cs2016
I don't like the second line imo. The Amex wasn't really good this year and that could repeat next season. Maybe trade Lu and Ballard for a top six forward.
underrated
Also want to give credit for an original idea but don't think it really helps any of the teams. Hiller likely is not who the Oilers would target as their goalie to carry the team as those young studs become dominant. Gagner helps the Canucks for a couple months while Kesler is injured but then sort of gets lost in the shuffle. Luongo and Ballard are massive contracts for a smaller hockey market in Anaheim. elvis15
Why would Anaheim want to take on extra salary when they have both Perry and Getzlaf to re-sign after this season? If you look at who gives up what, it doesn't make sense either: Van loses Luongo and Ballard Ana loses Hiller and Sbisa Edm loses Gagner and Jones (plus maybe Dubnyk) Gagner and Jones (plus maybe Dubnyk) aren't worth Luongo to us, let alone Ballard. Jones is a bottom 6 forward and Gagner has never really fit in Edmonton so they're in a tough spot with him. If we were asking too much on draft day for Luongo, we aren't going to settle now for much less.
Paul_Kariya28
No way Anaheim does that, the deal is too much in the Oilers favor.
