mattisacanuck
Hey guys and gals this is my first post so be gentle (cuddling after is preferred!) Anyways Ive been keeping up with the forums for a while now and enjoyed the caos that is CDC! The latest topics being the holes we have a who to sign to fill those holes and there is a name that I havnt seen come up yet and am supprised. RFA Jamie Benn I say give him an offer sheet of 4 or 5 mil for 5-6 years or something like that, this kid would be the perfect fit for this club along side kesler! Big, tough and hasnt scored less than 22 goals in a season. With Dallas having signed Roy and Jagr they might be neglecting Benn long enough for someone else to pick him up, yes I know Dallas still has 20+mil left in cap space but its at least worth trying for! Squeak
Dallas won't let him go.
Xbox
Lol Dallas wont rid themselves of their 1st line centre! They did that a year ago and they wont do it again
Ossi Vaananen
Dallas would match whatever we throw at him, and 4 to 5 mil seems low given the market. Benn is at the core of the Star's restructuring.
JordanEberle
Welcome to the board. Theres no way Dallas will release Jamie Benn to anyone and with the bright future ahead of the stars I dont see why he would want to leave either
Drive-By Body Pierce
I would have to agree with the other responses. I don't think there's any way Dallas would let him go. I bet they would match any offer immediately.
mattisacanuck
yeah by the time i got to the end of my topic I realized how much cap space Dallas still had, I would throw every last dollar of what we have left, $5,321,66, but I dont think it would be enough! suolucidir
Dallas would match any OS, and would not trade his rights unless what's coming back made them better today, and tomorrow.
Tangelos
Benn would be great but he is Dallas' franchise player. Kind of like Nash only better.
Vlas=d
yea because Dallas won't match that contract..
oldnews
Dallas would match - but you have definitely identified a very attractive player to offer sheet, particularly when negotiations with Dallas seem like they could take a while. He's a left winger, so the Canucks would likely have to turn around and move Booth. You'd probably have a better chance of acquiring him by offering Booth in a package for his rights. I don't see that resulting in Benn coming to Vancouver, but hey, this is what CDC is here for - discussions like this. Welcome to CDC.

kessywessy
He might be a good fit, but I don't think it would be possible. Dallas probably wouldn't let him go.
Jai604
Not possible. Benn is not going anywhere, lol. You don't let a player like Benn go, rofl. Dallas would just laugh, and match.

Raiun
I like the idea, but as others have said, not likely. He's too valuable to Dallas, too valuable in general, and not sure he'd want to come here anyways. Where would he play? Probably first line or second line, which means that one of our top six is gonna have to be moved somewhere else.... not sure it's workable. Welcome to the board, anyways. Danthecanucksfan
Dallas would definitely match anything under 7 Million, after that idk. But If the Canucks were to make an offer sheet, they'd have to clear some cap, and some how offer enough do that Dallas would not be able to afford him. (we aren't getting him is what I'm trying to say)
CanucksFanMike
He is their future... the Stars have said that they are commited to building a winner by adding peices AROUND Benn, meaning that they aren't going to trade him.
