Can teams at least have an option of "Unconditional Waivers" where any team can put in a claim and put the player anywhere?

My concerns were two sided, but I only argued the most outwardly applicable side....the second thing is more personal to roster management and that is Salary or Contract dumps..if any team must dump a player quickly, limiting those who can put in a claim is hurtful to the dumping team in that there will be less claims..so maybe we could allow the term "Unconditional Waivers" to be reserved for players a team wants to dump to anywhere that will take him, and "Waivers" to mean the traditional claim and stick him on your main roster version?

Or is that the case already and i am totally behind on this topic? lol.

EDIT: sorry to sound all nitpicky..its not that serious a discussion, just focused in scope so it sounds all anal. I am an analyst by trade, so its in my nature.

Cool, thanks for listening, hehe. My work here is done....

...my work HERE is just beginning...News from Rangers front offices are that Carter Ashton is a front runner to take one of two remaining forward spots...deadline is running strait at GM Primal Optimists face...and you can almost see steam rising from him as he sifts through scouting reports, waiver wire, and stats machines.

REMINDER!: One week to go until the start of the regular season, everyone please make sure you are cap compliant by 12:00pm noon Pacific Time on October 1st.

If you are not cap compliant and within your minors budget at this time, your team will NOT be entered into the database to collect points for opening night.

41 Hours to go!!!!!

The Habs have multiple decisions to make before the curtains on the 2013-14 season rise this Tuesday, but a few will have to wait to see the results of today's waiver-wire.

Patrice Cormier and Korbinian Holzer were both placed on waivers this morning, and it is unsure if they will clear or not. While it is expected that both will clear, we will wait to see the results before reacting.

With Brandon Pirri assigned to the minors, Kevin Connauton expected to make the big club, Michael Latta still sticking around before final cuts, and veteran Ed Jovanovski expected to begin the year on the LTIR, a few more moves are expected before the final roster is announced.

TRADE: The Ottawa Senators have made a trade with the Calgary Flames.

To CGY:

Tomas Fleischmann

To OTT:

Matt Halischuk

Ryan Hartman

MIN 2014 3rd Round Draft Selection

The Ottawa Senators would like to wish Tomas all the best in Calgary. This was a tough move to make, but the cap going down put us in a difficult situation. We are ecstatic to welcome Ryan and Matt to the organisation, as well as add another pick for next season. We have acquired 2 very talented young hockey players.

This will not be the last trade announced before season opener on Tuesday. Another big trade is to follow, as well as a few minor ones. Exciting times in the nations capital!
