Edmonton Oilers 3 Stars, November 2013

1st Star:

Alexander Steen (82 pool points)

Alex continued his torrid pace with 15 points, including 3 GWG and an astounding +11 in plus/minus. Seems he stepped right into the position Kovalchuk left him :P.

2nd Star:

Semyon Varlamov (70 pool points)

Continued his very solid play, and even with the allegations against him, he stayed firm, and put us in a position to succeed most games he was involved in

3rd Star:

Danny DeKeyser

When we traded for Danny in the offseason, we certainly didn't expect this - 9 points through November, even while missing time with a seperated shoulder. We brought Danny in on the hope he would become a top defenseman eventually in this league, and it seems he's headed that way faster than expected.

Minnesota Wild November 3 stars

1st Star: Corey Perry

No surprise here, Perry was on fire, leagues the GML in scoring, and had 98 pool points in the month of November. He's doing everything he can to get the Wild into a playoff spot.

2nd Star: Andrei Markov

With 90 pool points on the month not only has Markov remained healthy but he is producing on our top pair. Can't ask for much more from him.

3rd Star: Hampus Lindholm

Lindholm exploded this month with 50 pool points, leading the team in rookie scoring.

Carolina Hurricanes 3 stars of Movember

1ST STAR

Ben Scrivens 100 pool points

Ben was amazing this month. Only suffering one loss in regulation and getting two shutouts this month Ben proved he has a bright future. He showed Carolina fabs what its like to have a starting goalie.

2ND STAR

James Wisniewski 88 pool points

James has stepped up as the number one defensemen for this team. He has been the power play quarterback and is getting a lot of points. I dont think anyone expected him to be this good.

3RD STAR

Antoine Roussel 39 pool points

Antoine has been Mr.Everything for Carolina. He is getting shorthanded points, Fights and getting key goals. He is becoming a fan favorite here in Raleigh.

It was a fantastic month for Carolina.. Finishing 10th in the league for scoring this month, Carolina has made themselves legitement playoff contendors in the toughest division in hockey. After finishing last place the last two years the turn around for this team is getting fans super excited.

Washington Capitals 3 Stars of the Month:

1st Star - Chris Kreider

Kreider has finally cemented himself as an offensive force in the Nation's capital by scoring 4 goals and 13 points in the month of November.

2nd Star - Kyle Turris

Another product of the Capitals farm system in Dover, Turris is enjoying a breakout season at the center position.

3rd Star - Ryan Ellis

The young junior hockey star is coming into his own and has become a reliable big minute defenseman on the second pairing for the Capitals.

Montreal Canadiens 3 Stars for November

Despite being hammered by the injury bug, the Habs managed to finish the month off strong with over 100 points in the final two nights of November. There is reason for optimism in Montreal with healthy bodies returning, and it's partly due to the performances of the following three Habs during the past 30 days that we think we can stick around:

1st Star - Jan Hejda (79 points)

The veteran blue-liner was a rock for us this month as we struggled to keep our head above water, contributing one goal, six assists, 8 PIM's and a whopping +17.

2nd Star - Erik Johnson (61 points)

We stay on the blueline with Hejda's actual d-partner, as the two have been excellent together this season. EJ added four assists, 14 PIM's and a +13.

3rd Star - Devin Setoguchi (51 points)

Gooch didn't start with the season with the Habs, but he's really fit in since showing up on Halloween. He compiled 4 goals, 4 assists, 6 PIM's and a +9.

TRADE: The Montreal Canadiens have made a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets.

To CBJ:

Erik Nystrom

To MTL:

Nick Schultz

BUF 2014 3rd Round Draft Selection

TRADE: The Montreal Canadiens have made a trade with the Buffalo Sabres.

To MTL:

Reto Berra

Dylan Olsen

To BUF:

Austin Watson

Dylan McIlrath

Petr Mrazek

The Habs are very pleased to have acquired Reto, Dylan and Nick in these two separate deals, as the need for defenders and a healthy netminder due to injuries forced us into action. In doing so, we gave up three young players that we were very high on in Austin, Dylan and Petr as well as a solid bottom-6 forward in Erik, but the ages of both Berra and Olsen were both important in our decision.

At the end of the day, we feel that this team should be a competitive one in the CDCGML and this will help us to do so not only this year but for the next few years as well. And with youngsters like Alex Galchenyuk and Brandon Pirri performing well in the show as well as Slater Koekkok, Radek Faksa, Max Domi and Erik Haula coming down the pipeline we felt comfortable moving out some futures for the here and now.
