We really needed points from Thornton, Iginla, Vanek, Mike Smith and we got em.

Salo was quiet tonight, and only two from Malone but two from Stuart and Larsson each are a bonus, haha.

Stajan, Hudler and Backlund left to represent us and maybe swing us up over the average gains on the night. Lookin forward to this one.

I can't help but give some kind of commentary and this morning is no different than any other standings post. First off: Minnesota, Nashville and Detroit are leading a movement of resurgence from the bottom half which has seen a number of teams make solid headway up in the standings this past week. Last night the Red Wings added 65 points which was good enough for 3rd on the night. Phoenix was first overall last night with a whopping 103 point effort which was built around the shutout win of Antti Niemi and the firepower of Mike Cammalleri. There is a couple story lines in every division and each one is rather exciting on its own merit.

8 POints separate 6th, 7th and 8th in the Atlantic while Boston is enjoying a fantastic start to the season...

Metro is so tight that about 100 points is the split between 2nd and 6th, 1st would be in there too if not for a goalie goal, PHilly looks to make up ground with 8 players in action tonight.

the Avs made a deal with the devil this Halloween week to move into top spot in the Central Div. with 666 points. Spooky. Meanwhile Minny and the Blues had solid weeks to help move them up into a fighting spot.

Almost everyones favorite Division in the NHL, the Pacific has seen a lot of jostling this past 10 days, with teams falling down, surging and enjoying spectacular nights like Squeak's Coyotes eating up over 100 points last night to lead the Division. The West is volatile and by the end of November we might see a whole different order to the standings.

Good Luck all, and I hope you are enjoying the season as much as I am.

ASSIGNMENT: The Winnipeg Jets assign Nathan Beaulieu to their minor league club in Revelstoke.

RECALL: The Winnipeg Jets recall Tyson Barrie from their minor league club and place him on their active roster. (on the off chance that Patrick Roy finally pulls his head out of his behind and plays him)

Tyson Barrie has the skill and ability to be a top 4 defenceman right now and be a big asset on the power play.

If Roy is dead set against playing him, then trade him and stop holding the kid back. How's he supposed to shore up his defensive game from the press box?
