But if he had Patrick Roy or Broduer for a teammate most likely he would have been on the bench just like Schenider. Just be thankful in some ways that having Cory as a back up made Loungo push to be a better goaltender! C'mon do you really think guys like Sabourin,Sanford,Labarbrea,Johnson was going to push him to be better. No knock on Luongo but would you say that playing in Minnisota, and Boston where he hasn't fair well in the past be called a panic attack that they had to put Cory in Boston? Mustapha Posted July 23, 2013 Share Posted July 23, 2013 C'mon man your'e better than that. Statistically Luongo had his best season in '10/11 with Cory as his full time backup. As for Luongo winning a cup on any of Roy's or Brodeur's championship teams, that's debatable. The Canucks have iced a few pretty damn good teams as well and have gotten nowhere (sort of). On topic, Luongo can keep the #1. As far as I am concerned it doesn't make a difference what number a player wears in regards to winning a championship.
