canuck van city
Van acquires Shea Weber Nashville acquires Dan Hamhuis, David Booth and Mike Santorelli Plus first round draft pick from Van The cap hit is not a problem for Nashville, as for Van, they just get by in this trade. Roughly 8 million going to Van, and 9 million to Nashville plus the first round pick. Weber has wanted out of Nashville for years and del zotto will ask for a lot more next year. Van needs this trade obviously, with Weber on the power play and he would replace hamhuis perfectly. Nashville doesn't lose their defense edge as they add hamhuis, where as Booth, Santorelli and a first round pick solidify Nashville murky future. All we are loosing are 2 forwards in Booth, who can be replaced by anyone the way he is playing, and Mike who can be replaced by vinny prosal. Nash won't mind as they are a losing team, they need to rebuild. This move will take the canucks to the finals every year after. power play will score on demand like with salo. Hamhuis cant put the puck in the net, trade bait for someone who can. We only lose santoerlli who can be replaced as he is new with the team. Azzy Mahmood
Where to start? Weber would never have stayed in Nashville this long if he didn't like it there. If you really want out of somewhere, you make it happen. Play poorly, go on strike, have your agent lay comments in the media, everything. Weber loves it in Nashville. Second, that trade is awful for them. They give up one of the top 3 D in the league, if not the best, in exchange for Hamhuis (who has a NTC), Booth (no scoring, awful contract), Santorelli (impending huge raise) and a medium 1st in a poor draft. If you really want Shea Weber on your Canucks team, this is the minimum deal required to make Nashville consider: Dan Hamhuis + Chris Tanev + Zack Kassian + 2014 1st + 2015 1st

Azzy Mahmood
Shea Weber loves it so much in Nashville that he signed an offersheet with Philadelphia. I'd have done the same thing. A huge sum of money that he thought Nashville couldn't have offered him - I bet he's glad they matched.
Aladeen
Without Kesler ++++ going back for Weber, Nashville wouldn't even waste their time picking up the phone.

Edler , Hansen, Gaunce and a 1st LOL Nashville used to play Hamhuis all the time when he was there. Your trading Olympian defense for Olympian defense. Add a few forwards for Hamhuis lack of scoring and we got it. Nash is desperate Booth has been doing better, he would fit in well at nashville cause their all hunters down there. I bet he gets 40 points playing on their second line minutes which he cant get here! 40 points is respectable they can afford to pay extra, for a year then re-sign the power forward which they need. Santorallir or hansen, either would work. each a 40 pointer player. Maybe plus corrado and a 1st round and they should take this trade. and we can replace all these players, are not important to the canucks organization this is a better trade for Nashville As they receive a bunch of players all contributing combined 130 points from vancity. Van gets shea weber and only loses 2 bottom six players and exchange of Olympian defense occurs. Weber would get 20 goals playing for van mostly PP goals, sedins assist. I mean Hamhuis cant even hit the net on the PP.
Pears
Hamhuis left Nashville, took a pay cut, to sign here. In what world would it logically make sense to trade him back for his old D partner? If we're trading for Weber, it would be for him to play with Hamhuis.
Baggins
Van acquires Shea Weber Nashville acquires Dan Hamhuis, David Booth and Mike Santorelli Plus first round draft pick from Van When was Nashville's GM in an accident that caused major brain damage? I typically only come to armchair GMing for a chuckle but this one gave me a belly laugh.
