Nail
With the first round about to conclude, there will be no more draft scouts requests to be used with perk points. For the teams with perk points left (70% of the total perk points have been used so far), you still have until the end of this draft to use the perk points before they expire. Following the draft, all teams will have 5 new perk points. 1
Popular Post Caboose
After a disappointing end to the regular season, Nashville was faced with some hard choices to make this summer. The salary cap crunch was inevitable and unfortunately the Predators have had to release superstar D man Kimmo Timonen to unrestricted free agency. To lessen the blow of losing Timonen, GM Caboose sought to add a top pairing defenceman and target Tomas Kaberle. Kaberle's 40+ points last season on some poor teams leads the Predators to believe he can step into Timonen's shoes. GM Caboose had to pay a pretty price, sending promising young defenceman Dan Hamhuis and top defender for Canada at the World Juniors, Cody Franson. At the draft, Nashville's underfunded scouting department failed to find any players they deemed worth drafting, so they traded their 1st round pick to Phoenix for prospect forward Peter Mueller and their 2nd round pick to St. Louis for young bottom 6ers Jay McLement and Lee Stempniak. Mueller projects as a 2nd line playmaker long term for the Predators, and he alongside Patric Hornqvist should hopefully provide some salary cap relief in the future. McLement and Stempniak will feature on the revamped Predators 4th line, which was a problem area for them last season. 2007-08 Nashville Predators Paul Kariya - Brad Richards - Martin Erat J.P. Dumont - Jason Arnott - Alexander Radulov Josef Vasicek - David Legwand - Michal Handzus Jay McLement - Ryan Johnson - Lee Stempniak Tomas Kaberle - Marek Zidlicky Ryan Suter - Shea Weber UFA - Greg Zanon Tomas Vokoun Pekka Rinne 5 1
