Popular Post Nail
2025 DRAFT TIDBITS PART 4 Dustin Cummins (RW/LW) Ohhh yessssssss baby he's cummin! In his third season for the Halifax Mooseheads in the QMJHL, Cummins has proven that he is a consistent goal scorer. Previously, Cummins has scored 42 and 43 goals, while this season he has 36 through 49 games to go for a total of 68 points. A late December baby, Cummins is one of the older members of this draft class, and plays a purely offensive style of game. Don't expect Cummins to do much defensively, and there are some concerns that his skating is not good enough to translate to the NHL level. Cummins will be interesting to watch and see if he can replicate this production at higher levels. Philip Dawson (RW) A 6'2 229 lbs powerforward playing for Mississauga in the OHL, Dawson is in his 2nd season and has currently put up 29 goals and 56 points through 48 games, to go with a 7.94 AVR. Dawson has the maximum strength attribute one could have already, and loves to play a physical game. Overall, Dawson is an excellent skater making him a scary sight for defenders on the forecheck. One thing that puzzles scouts is that the rest of Dawson's attributes look very raw, and it almost seems as if he shouldn't be putting up these numbers at the OHL level. Like many powerforwards, looks like a longer term project. Martin Bishop (LD/RD) An offensive defenceman in his rookie season with Quebec in the QMJHL, Bishop is off to a fantastic start putting him in the conversation for both QMJHL Rookie and Defenseman of the Year. Through 49 games thus far, Bishop has 13 goals and 51 assists while logging heavy minutes and playing on the first unit in all situations. At 6'1 and 213 lbs, Bishop is a bigger defenceman, but is also a bit raw technically. His passing is one of his better attributes, but Bishop has some consistency issues in his own zone at times. Igor Ionov (G) One of the more polarizing prospects in this years draft, Ionov has bounced around the KHL this year, being traded twice and appearing in games as a 17 year old starter for three different teams. Through 34 combined games, Ionov has a save percentage of .916. In a draft that doesn't seem to have a goalie that is consistently ranked near the top, many scouts are wondering why Ionov's evaluations are deemed to be around a mid round pick. Could Ionov have legit potential, or is he a guy that has simply peaked too early in his career, and is unlikely to get much better in the future. Ty Thompson (LW/RW) A playmaking winger in his freshman season for the Michigan State Spartans, Thompson is off to a respectable start with 4 goals and 14 points through 21 games. Primarily being played in a top 6 role, Thompson has shown he can be used in mostly all situations. There are some concerns that Thompson is raw and underdeveloped, however the college game will give him time to improve on areas of weakness. Some of the things that Thompson can work on in the future include his shot, as well as gaining more strength. 4 1 2

Popular Post Patrick Kane
Sad day today, trading one of the best 3C's in the game in Riley Sheahan. With a declining Toews, we needed someone to step into the top 6 C position. Never forget his incredible back to back playoff run, having 1 GA / 16 TA both times. 3 2 1
Otis
Hopefully the addition of Rust and the subtraction of Kunin/Frost improve the horribleness of the bottom-6. Not much else to improve on so hopefully we can do it!
