Congrats to the Wild on a good series.

Winnipeg took a big step forward this year. Not sure exactly what kind of changes will be made, but I’m sure they won’t be too big.

Winnipeg releases:

Chris Thorburn

Brian Strait

Drew Stafford

Disappointed that we lost to Sharks in the 2nd  round of the playoffs , but more importantly proud of the Edmonton Oilers going this far!

These Oilers have that Playoff experience to take into next season and hopefully build off of that.

Oilers will have some tough decisions to make in the offseason and might have maybe only 1 or 2 vets coming back.

First and foremost will have to re-sign Leon Draisaitl and Ben Bishop to extended contracts, then we will decide which vets will we want to keep for next season.

All in all, Oilers will be contenders again next season!

Damn almost pulled off the reverse sweep...

First time out of the 1st round in RGMG so we will take it. With one of the youngest teams in the league and lots of cap space, we will be looking to build on this next year  and compete for the cup. First steps will be getting Johansen and Arvidsson signed to long-term deals, but we are open to all trade ideas to make our team better.

FLY ER DIE: SEASON WRAP-UP

The season is over. The Flyers have finished with a record of 33 - 37 - 12, good for 11th worst in the league. Many players stood out in a positive manner; many in a negative manner. The team and fans will now be looking forward to the offseason, which is sure to bring big change and exciting new players. In order to establish a better picture of what the team needs, here is a recap and grade for the team by position, along with awards.

Forwards:

Grade: B+

Scoring was certainly not the big issue in Philly this season. While it could've been better, the team still finished with four 60-point scorers, two 30-goal scorers, and five 20-goal scorers. The team was led by the usual; Claude Giroux and Jakub Voracek notched 76 and 67 points respectively. Brayden Schenn completed that line with a solid 66 point performance. The 2nd line saw a revolving door of wingers, but that didn't stop Sean Couturier from breaking out with 63 points, including 30 goals and a monster +30 rating. Mid-season arrivals Tobias Rieder and Nail Yakupov aced their top 6 auditions, with Yakupov in particular putting up 23 points in 29 games. Rieder scored 21 goals, and will hopefully make the fans forget about Travis Sanehim. The bottom 6 didn't do so well, but Michael Raffl was a standout performer, hustling hard at both ends and grabbing 32 points. Veteran Boyd Gordon didn't have much help from his linemates, but was a heart-and-soul defensive forward and penalty killer, highlighted by an eye-popping 65% faceoff wins. Penciled in as 3C of the future, Scott Laughton will certainly be demanding more from himself next year.

Defence:

Grade: D

Outside of 1 standout performer; not good. Shayne Gostisbehere was thrust in to the role of #1D and soared past all expectations, posting 54 points, a +8 rating, and running the powerplay. His partner Radko Gudas had a decent season as well, grabbing 20 points, a +9 rating, and dominating on the penalty kill. After trading away Michael Del Zotto and Dennis Wideman, the bottom 4 D were not good at all, and it's doubtful that any of them fit in to the team's long-term plans. Brandon Manning and Deryk Engelland are likely to return in a manageable 3rd pairing role next year, but Clayton Stoner and Andy MacDonald have likely played their final games in orange and black. On the bright side, the team has already agreed to a deal in principle for a new top 4 D, and have Ivan Provorov ready to step in to the NHL.

Goaltending:

Grade: F

There is not much to say here; Antti Niemi and Louis Domingue are not good enough for a playoff team. New faces will be needed here next year, with management already contacting Washington, who have a wealth of quality goaltenders.

Awards:

Leading Scorer: Claude Giroux

MVP: Shayne Gostisbehere

Most Exciting Player: Nail Yakupov

Best Defenceman: Shayne Gostisbehere

Unsung Hero: Michael Raffl

Sheets will be rolled over soon, all players with "CHL" tag will be available to each teams full disposal for the start of next season.

The following players have been signed to contracts from Europe or College. Note that players have only been signed if they feel they are ready to step immediately into an NHL role.

Jacob Larsson
Dominik Kubalik

Joel Eriksson Ek

Marcus Hogberg

Christian Jaros

Jonas Siegenthaler

Tyler Bertuzzi

Will Butcher

Alex Kerfoot

Colin White

Adam Gaudette

Brock Boeser

Other players will remain in their previous leagues as they are not contractually obligated to leave, or feel they need more development.

NOTE: I will be fairly lenient on RFA's for the first two years of the league.

 How to sign RFAs

Spoiler

Our league will operate under an arbitration style system for RFAs. Players 26 years of age or younger will be RFAs.

  • RFAs will only sign a 2 year deal (exception if they have played 4 full seasons, they can sign a 5 year deal)

Message the RFA Agent @Patrick Kane with the years you would like to sign your player for

The RFA Agent will then provide contract values based off our contract guidelines.

See example below:

image.png.ac93485e30425b6700e158e18b2163ef.png

If a team decides not to take the RFA Agent's offer, the player will be eligible for offersheets in free agency, however if they are not offered an offersheet in Stage 1, they will re-sign for cheaper than the agent's original value.

How to sign UFAs

Spoiler

UFAs are signed in a traditional way.

You PM your appropriate agent and sent them an appropriate offer based on the Re-Signing Guidelines.

West UFA Agent - @Spoderman

East UFA Agent - @Go Faulk Yourself

An older player may sign in the low end of their range. These are not strict rules, but will apply to most.
