Monty
Winnipeg is finished drafting for this year. After not quite hitting on scouts this year, but also wanting to get a better prospect with my first pick and try for a better 2nd round pick next season, moving up and selecting defenseman Juuso Valimaki was more important than a lesser prospect in the 2nd round and 3rd round picks. EDIT: Traded to get a pick to select Jordan Staal comparable, Morgan Frost. Valimaki was always the selection once I moved up from 17 to 11. I knew he wasn’t going to be around at 17, and even though my team is currently set on the backend with Buff, Trouba, Morrissey, and Myers, it’s better to have depth on the backend, especially with Pavelec as my starter Tyler Myers’ contract has been re-negotiated, which will bring even more cap space to the Winnipeg organization. Once free agency comes, I’m sure I’ll be making a substantial offer to one free agent to push for a deeper playoff run next season. After next season, there will be sizeable contracts coming to Ehlers and Trouba. Don’t quite have to worry about Laine and Connor, but they’re coming. Popular Post Nail
HELPING UNDERSTAND THE NEW DRAFTING SYSTEM: From questions I've received and info that has been gathered in Discord, here are some helpful tips to draft: Draft range is determined strictly off of EHM's final rankings. The highest potential players won't be in a linear order from 1 to 120. Draft comparable will help you get an idea of what the players potential ceiling may be. Nothing is guaranteed, some players will be able to surpass this ceiling, some players won't be able to reach this ceiling. Draft range is also determined by the players reputation in game as well as their current ability (CA). Players with a higher CA are more likely to be rated higher. If a player has a high draft range but a meh comparable, this likely means they are pretty far into their development curve and may be close to or already reached their max. If a player has a lower draft range but a better comparable, this likely means the player is very underdeveloped, however should he develop properly, has a higher ceiling. Given the limited information you receive for the top 30 prospects or draft scouts, it will help to really key in on the comparable and draft range. 7 3 2

Popular Post Kobayashi Maru
The Stars are very happy with their 2017 picks this year in potential top line center Hischier, potential top line D in Timmins and future starting goalie DiPietro. We know Radcliffe could bring his size and attitude to the team in a few years as well. Nearly drafted Ukka Pekka Pokemon and Zach Sawchenko as well but the scouting competition was fierce this year. Big thanks to our scouts who put in the time to make this happen. The stars are ready to get back to prominence this year with the youth arriving in full force after being developed in the lower leagues. Lindell, Honka, Guryanov, and Scherbak are ready to make the jump. Nuke is ready for the show too, but has some family drama to sort out in Russia and hopefully will make the jump next year with Hintz. The Stars will be turning their attention to to Free Agency where we look to land a top six LW and 1A/B starter to work alongside Kari. Could look to make trades for high priced players on other teams that need the cap space. Teams can inquire directly with options. As the roster takes shape a few cheap productive players could be moved for picks in Jordie Benn and Devin Shore. Teams can also inquire about them. 4
