Hairy,.
I’m watching the Hurricanes/ Blue Jackets game.   BBurns .    said it the year before he was traded to try and pry him loose.

Most here said too old / declining..

37 yrs , playing and skating like he was at 29/30.

San Jose also sent Lane Pederson with him,.

And Burns is tradeable until his contract expires after 2 more full seasons.

Beast.

BRENT BURNS #8

Right Defense
Cap Hit: $5,280,000
Retained Salary: Logo of the San Jose Sharks $2,720,000
Daily Cap Hit: 28.5K
Accumulated Daily Cap Hit Tooltip : 2.51M
Remaining Daily Cap Hit Tooltip : 2.74M

The rebuilding San Jose Sharks have traded veteran defenceman Brent Burns and forward Lane Pederson to the Carolina Hurricanes for forward Steven Lorentz, goaltender Eetu Makiniemi and a 2023 third-round pick.

The Sharks are retaining 33 per cent of Burns’s $8-million cap.

Perhaps, he is rejuvenated playing for a contender vs in Vancouver.

I just wanted know why Garland was such a beast 5 on 5 last year and not so much this year. Honestly if he played like last year we would be talking about possibly getting out first back

Garland, Boeser, Miller, OEL, Pearson, no Poolman or Dermott.

We've had our share of MIAs this year.

Demko injured.

Perfect storm of under performance.

Kuz is a tough one.
He has taken to playing with Petey like a fish to water...

Re-sign or trade...

The trade value is there, but giving up on a player, who works well with Petey, hmmm

Alternatively sign, but at what value? I see a few being concerned about the small sample size, but if he signs for 2 years @4-5M, he'll be like 29 at the end of that contract, so he'll be looking to get paid now, and are we interested in giving a 29year old a 5-6 year contract at 6-7M in 2 years?

Think that unless they can sign him to Mika money for 5-6 years, he is going to be traded. Too big a risk of him walking as a free agent.

It will be a shame, cause he brings a lot of enthusiasm to the team as well as both ability and goals...

Its a flipping joy to watch him on the ice.

Don’t fret it, I trust management will make the worst possible decision in regards to kuzmenko ala miller, Horvat and Boeser. -_-

This has the makings of a classic Swedish centre and Russian left wing combo, ala the Caps Backstrom and Ovechkin. Not that either of our duo would be uttered in the same sentence as the Caps pair, but they're a good facsimile. And at the moment, they're ours. Let's keep 'em together for the long haul!

Go Canucks Go!
