Prediction: No Trades. Sign a couple solid Free Agents but not the high priced ones:

Im good with that

Yeah, I’d love to bank a bit of cap and have more flexibility for next year, which is a much better FA class

I don’t know if he’s a good choice or not. I haven’t really followed him since he was on Chicago. I like the idea of Schenn and Soucy very much though

With the conclusion of the NHL draft, there are now only six teams that haven't "Thinged" (made a trade) since the NHL trade deadline. The Canucks are one of them.

Too lazy too look, did any of them finish behind us in the standings or are we the only team still basking in the glory of another coaching bump?

He is 36 years old and has a 7M cap hit for 3 more years. His best years are behind him. His ice time has dropped to that of a 3rd pair D.

I just wanted to see if someone gets a heart attack hehe

Yes, only the Capitas. The other four teams (Maple Leafs, Wild, Sabres, Kraken) finished above us.

Not sure that making ‘a move’ qualifies as success. Especially given the type of trades happening…

No moves are better than desperation/bad moves

Definitely. While not "thinging" may be seen as a cautious approach, it can sometimes be better than "thinging" that could harm the team's future prospects.

Ultimately, the success of "thinging" is determined by how well they address a team's needs, improve its overall performance, and contribute to its goals. Each "thinging" should be assessed on its individual merits, and teams should strive to make calculated "thingings" rather than succumbing to desperation or making poor decisions.

We’ll said, Vintage.

What are you hoping to see IF the Canucks make a move before July 1?

The Canucks could consider adding a reliable shutdown defenseman (for Hughes) or someone with leadership qualities to bolster the defensive core. They could also look to address weaknesses on their power play or penalty kill units by acquiring players with a track record of success in special teams situations. Another area that could be targeted is the addition of players who bring physicality and grit to the lineup, providing an element of toughness and improved competitiveness.

Otherwise, let's see when free agency opens up...

I'm not hoping that we do things for the sake of doing things

Has Myers ever had a decent D partner with the Canucks?   No doubt Myers isn't a top D man... but seems he would be much better if he had a superior partner paired up with him.

He has to have some value as a Big Bodied R hand D.

Love how he flattened Tavaras in the Leafs game.  Elevated the whole team.
