He's betting on himself because nobody would have him on his old contract that had 2 years remaining: $1.8M and $2.7M (1.8 cap hit) so he's signed with next years worst team in the league. You guy's weren't nearly as charitable on another former 6 OA pick who stunk and is now playing for the Fischtown Pinguins Odds are, Zadina joins his old buddy Jake in Fischtown after Christmas Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He didn't feel he was getting a good shake in Detroit so asked to go. SJ is a bottom feeder that thought why not? If Zadina gets good minutes and some pp time he may have better numbers and get a better contract after this year. Doesn't mean he's a good player though.
