[PROPOSAL] OEL To Detroit Red Wings
Johnny Torts replied to Elias Pettersson's topic in Proposals and Armchair GM'ing
OEL is a top pairing defence man. Will be in our top 4 for a few more years. How much do those guys go for at your local Walmart? If we didn’t have OEL I’m pretty sure we would’ve been drafting Shane Wright this summer. -
[Proposal] Malkin to YVR

How TF will we not win a cup with. BROCKO AND GENO -
Malkin’s a beauty. We need to move a piece or 2 though. There’s Cap left after a BB6 extension but regardless. Dump dick, pool, and we can afford to re-sign Brocko and sign Geno. Maybe flip a quality forward for a quality D. Then with OEL, Myers, Hughes, we got a more than decent top 4. N don’t b**** about re-signing Petey or Podz down the road because we have more cap coming of f the boards eye E Myers Remember maybe Karlsson can do some damage and if Kuz comes in then we are sitting so pretty I’m talking cup contender, no matter what drancer says eh. He’s so negative. Lets win a cup eh? Cheers fam. Xo

Hey guys. Just signed up with Oxio internet. 300Mbs down for 82 bucks. Kicker is that if you sign up with a referral code you get your first month free. And if someone uses your referral code, you get a free month. And it stacks! Cute web design. Im moving to Airdrie, Alberta, and they use Shaw lines. Here is the referral code for your free month: R22PG7A Oh yeah no cancellation fees. I haven’t actually started using it but good reviews an all. If I don’t like it I will cancel and switch to Telus fibre optic anyways. Tough economy penny pinching where I can cheers. Feel free to share your code if u sign up!

What cap situation? Theres a big OEL deal but hes not a bum. Dumped in a few years and we lose a pick big whoop tough guy this is a cap world. Myers has a big deal that will expire when Petey and Podz need to re-up. He also happens to have a very tradable contract after July. There is no die hard cap situation compared to the cap hell we just got out of. Water is wet.

Embrace the chant -
After listening to Smyl, I believe there was a big problem with management all the way down to coaching. Coaching eventually always becomes and issue with most coaches establishing their biases on the team and players. For example, I do not believe there was a good vibe in the room between Green and 40 + 43 because they missed camp. Just my opinion.

A lot of talk about a core piece not being here next year.
Johnny Torts replied to Johnny Torts's topic in Canucks Talk
Good afternoon, I think my whole point was that I didn’t think we were in any sort of cap hell and could retain our core at the very least. Now trades and cap dumping to make more room and free agent signings all could happen, but we do currently have the room to give our guys the money they deserve in both Miller and Horvat at the very least. Especially with Hughes locked up, and Myers expiring when EP40 + Podz contract needs renewing. After a Boeser extension, is there a possibility of Dick and Poolman being dumped to create more room? Of course. -

Yeah that’s what I was thinking. Besides the big OEL deal, we don’t have a lot of big deals weighing us down in re-signing the current core and picking up a player or 2 plus maybe some ELC’s and value contracts like Schenn. -

Most recent iMac second intermission -
I’m just trying to make sense of it myself. ”a lot of talk” - as in I was listening to iMac in the second intermission of the second last Canucks game vs LA. - edit Cap Friendly says the following about the projected cap space moving forward: 22-23 - $11.8 M (Without Boeser, and assuming Dick or Poolman and some others are still not dumped) 23-24 - $34.2 M (Without Boeser, Miller and Horvat) 24-25 - $56.9 M (Without the contracts of Boeser Miller Horvat Petey and Podz ) I am just naming the significant players. I will assume the following $$ for said players, on the high end to be safe. Boeser - 7M Horvat - 7M Miller -9M Petey - 11M Podz - 5M 22-23 : ~ 4.8M left after signing Boeser (had 11.8 M in space) 23-24 : 34.2M minus 4.8 BB, 9 JT, 7 BO = 11.2 M left over 24-25 : 56.9M minus BB, JT, and BO contracts = 33.9M to resign the significants in PETEY (11)and PODZ (5) = 17.9 Million Also assuming bottom pairing and depth forwards are paid accordingly. We have the space to resign our core and pick up a defenseman. We also have a lot of value on the team if someone does need to be moved to even out the roster offensively and defensively, right?
