  1. I am really high on Wood. I think his body grew fast thats why its been hard for him to be really good at skating compared to the shorter kids, but he can fix that and grow into it. He is only 17/18. His size, compete, and shot will translate well into the NHL and also could be very useful as a power forward in our top 6 forchecks and creates room for the high skill players. You need guys like this in the playoffs
  2. Wood drawing comparisons to McTavish and M. Tkachuk
  3. If we win second overall would you be ok trading the pick to Buffalo for Dylan Cozens and their 1st (13th overall) Where we could probably pick one of the top 2 RD's in the draft. Cozens would step into the line up next season and make an impact on the team.
  4. To Nashville - JT Miller To Vancouver - Filip Forsberg Both good players on similar contracts. JT would give Nashville a little more snarl up front. He would join a forward group with Matt Duchene and Ryan Johansson Canucks would get to see Fosberg and Pettersson on the top line. Maybe round it out with Hoglander Might be good for both to get a new opportunity
  5. A full season in Abbotsford will be good for his development. If he plays well in all areas then maybe he gets called up for a couple games.
  6. I think Miller is an important shelter glue piece that this team needs for the next 3-4 years while the team slowly improves its depth with quality prospects in all positions. We need to find more players that cost around 1m per year and develop them into reliable players that can play up and down the line up. We also have to wait for a better time to move bad contracts, like Myers, and OEL. Miller has a really important role to play on this team, he is the alpha leader who puts all the pressure of media and everything else on his back so that Pettersson and Hughes can do their thing. He is worth every thing he's getting paid and the thought of moving him should no be considered. We have a 1st round pick this year and next year that will help to reshape this team. We did well in getting Minnesota's 1st round pick Filip Johansson and he will likely play a bigger role in Abbotsford next season. Also Hirose and Sasson were great signings and could make an impact on the team next season. So to sum it up, our focus should be on moving out $$$ (not named Miller, Petey, Hughes, Kuzmenko, Hronek, Demko) and replacing that with younger more cost effective players. While were doing that Miller needs to hold this team together on and off the ice and make room for the young stars in Pettersson and Hughes to do grow with less pressure. Salary to move or buyout in the next few years - OEL, Myers, Garland, Beauvillier, Boeser, Pearson, Ferland, Poolman, Dermott
  7. I would be over the moon if we got Pellikka
  8. When i saw Boqvist play in Victoria he looked equally as dangerous and dominant on the ice as Q. Hughes. High IQ, good skating. He never got going in Ottawa. I would love to still get him if we could for cheap
  9. RD Connor Clifton is currently making 1m per year. Last season he had 5 goals and 18 assists on a stacked Bruins team. After their first round exit in the playoffs and the fact that a lot of players are getting old on the team they might look at this as a time to make some changes. If they decide not to resign Clifton he might become available. He is listed as 5'11, 190 pounds. He is due for a raise but im not sure how much. Would he be worth pursuing and for what amount? Connor Clifton Defense -- shoots R Born Apr 28 1995 -- Matawan, NJ [28 yrs. ago] Height 5.11 -- Weight 190 [180 cm/86 kg] Drafted by Phoenix Coyotes - round 5 #133 overall 2013 NHL Entry Draft
  10. to everyone complaining about how we went on a winning streak last season and picked at a worse spot, it wouldnt have made a difference. We could have been picking 7th overall and Alvin says in this video they had their list and they were sticking with it. On their list Lekkerimakki was 7th. So they most likely would have picked him in that spot. Just food for thought
  11. Based after watching that video I think Axel Sandin Pellikka will be their top pick. I have to agree that he has the highest ceiling
  12. Maybe a guy like Ville Ottavainen Defense -- shoots R Born Aug 12 2002 -- Oulu, Finland [20 yrs. ago] Height 6.05 -- Weight 218 [196 cm/99 kg] Drafted by Seattle Kraken - round 4 #99 overall 2021 NHL Entry Draft
  13. I think the moves Vanouver should make should be small and calculated. We need to use the 1st round pick to add another good prospect to the team. We also need to find value in cheap players that cost under 1m. Good team management has cheap players making big contributions. We have done a good job with signings. We could make a couple small trades for cheap players who are AHL/ NHL guys that could contribute. Id be looking at a projectable RD in the AHL with speed, IQ, defensive awareness who is under 25
  14. Remember this kid is only 23, he was trusted a lot by the coach this season. With a good off season of training he is at a good age to take that next step as a player.
  15. Management has done a good job bringing in a bunch of guys in the 23-25 range who are really cheap. The key for us to find value is if they start playing like 5m a year type players but were paying them under 1m.
  16. I hope MIkheyev's rehab for his knee is going well. Would be nice if it was healed up for training camp next season. edit if his surgery was in early Feb, then he could be out until 2024 : There is typically a long recovery period of 6 to 12 months before an athlete can return to sports that involve running and cutting. Range of motion into both flexion (bending the knee) and extension (straightening of the knee) are major priorities to ensure a progression toward strengthening at the appropriate pace.
  17. Its offseason for the Canucks and that means time for crazy proposals. To Jets - C/LW JT Miller, RW/LW Connor Garland, RD Ethan Bear To Canucks - RD Neal Pionk 27 years old , RW/LW Nino Niederreiter 30 years old, C Kevin Stenlund 26 years old Jets will be looking to make some changes and play a more hard nosed style. JT and Shiefle play a similar style and are similar in age. Neal Pionk had a breakout year and could be the guy we need beside Q.Hughes. Nino Niederreiter is a good player on a team that might not value him who is looking for players with push back. Garland and Miller fit that role. Miller could replace Pierre Luc Dubois if he is traded to Montreal. Bear and Stenlund help fill holes on each team Bouviler plus for Nico Sturm (I like Sturm for his simple mistake free hockey style) Boeser plus for Raslovic (might need a change of scenery, had a down year and Columbus has better options for that position) Myers plus 2023 1st round pick for Lawson Crouse (this would add much needed size to our top 9) Myers is involved for obvious salary reasons. Kuzmenko Pettersson Crouse Hoglander Raslovic Niederreiter Di Guiseppe Sturm Micheyev Joshua Aman Podkolzin Studnica Sasson Stenlund Hughes Pionk OEL Hronek Hirose Boroughs Rathbone Johanson Demko Silvos Ok you can rip away on this proposal now
  18. Wondering if his experience and connections would be valuable in Vancouver.
  19. Sandin- Pellikka has the potential of pairing well with Elias Pettersson the defenceman. He is defensively very good and Pellikka is very good offensively. Pellikka just needs a couple more years in Europe followed by a couple years in Abbotsford to round out his game. Pettersson Pellikka
  20. To Van - Phillip Zadina TO Det - Brock Boeser Both players could use a fresh start. Boeser is getting a lot more points than Zadina but has a higher salary. So we save money off the salary cap and get a new RW to try out.
  21. Happy to see him fit so well into Abbotsford.
  22. Shortly after the season ended when Cal Clutterbuck hit him into the gate and Brock had that bad back injury he posted a story on IG i think of him swimming under twin falls waterfall in Maui and having all that water hit his back while it was recovering. Not very responsible in my opinion
