Sami Salo has violent road rage.

I heard he strained his groin making a lane change.

Was he ever found guilty?

Off of Wikipedia: "The charge was dropped in exchange for 25 hours of community service, a $500 donation to charity and payment for the victim's dental work. Had he been convicted, Kassian would have been ineligible to cross the border into the United States, which would have conflicted with his hockey career."

wow I am amazed how stupid this CDC really is. Loads of people saying what happens off ice doesn't matter yet the story about Kane's heavy weekend comes up and everyone calls him the worst character ever.

Regardless of what players do off ice, we pay them to get results and on their play on ice.

The difference is that it is quite common for young people to get in scraps at the bar... but when you're making shmillions and beating up a cab driver over the cab fair... I believe that is much more an example of poor character than a bar fight... unless such cabby beating acts are common in your neck of the woods, in which case you would not know any better so you are excused.

Woo blame it all on AV.

Do people know that when he was in Buffalo, he was soft also?

There's a reason he's called the gentle giant over there! Watch some old Buffalo games and not highlights.

Wait, when people use this same logic to point out Hodgson's defensive deficiencies at the NHL level this past year (based on zone starts, corsi, fenwick & qualcomp stats on top of video evidence) people quickly point to his OHL & WJC pedigree as a two-way PP/PK specialist, yet with Kassian suddenly all the bite he showed at the OHL & WJC no longer counts?

Sometimes a 20 year old rookie isn't ready to ruffle veteran NHLers' feathers the wrong way, right off the bat. Not everyone is Lucic who came into the league with less projected offensive upside (skating is/always was a "?", not really a good stick handler, average vision & playmaking ability) and more thuggery (13 fights as a rookie) in his game than Kassian, who is projected to have better offensive skill (speed, skating, vision and smoother hands) but lesser thuggery in his game than the beast that is Lucic.

When was the last time (other than Lucic) that you saw a 19-year old rookie powerforward drop the gloves 13 times and put up numbers like 17g 25a or better? Brendan Shanahan perhaps? It's rarer than rare.

Patience. Please.

Kassian.... Taylor Pyatt 3.0

Lies. He's more of a Steve Bernier. Hopefully his talent level goes up so he can become like a Taylor Pyatt.

At least he's not getting smashed and choking cab drivers or girls in college.

It's okay if a Canuck does it, but not if Patrick Kane does!

Punching a 50 year old cabbie in the face over 40 cents is not the same as a bar fight. Unless you are getting into a bar fight with a 50 year old cabbie over 40 cents
