How in this day and age we can even call same sex marriages "gay rights" is beyond me. To me this is basic human rights, the right to choose who you want to spend the rest of your life with. I personally think marriage is an outdated institution. Why should I have to be acknowledged or permitted by the government or church to spend the rest of my life with who I want? rather than just spending my life with who I want?
