[Hypothetical] It's 2017, Sedins are 36, What kind of return?

I was reading an article talking about how Gillis is trying to rebuild and compete at the same time and it got me thinking... I would rather see a competing team for years to come without a cup than going all in this year for a cup and no future.

Lets fast forward to 2017. Assuming Sedins have resigned with us till then and they plan on playing till their 40s. Still productive but age is taking a toll on them like it would on anyone. We gotta think long term and make plans while they still have value.

Our GM at the time sees that it's time to trade the twins before they become too old and he's looking for prospects back. It wouldnt make sense to trade one of them and keep the other. I see him trading both.

What calibre prospects/players would we get for them at that age? Lets give examples of current prospects/rookies just to gauge their worth.

EDIT:

For those certain a 100% about the Sedins retiring in Vancouver, here's a really bad google translation of an interview they did a while back.

Years back there need not be so very many more. Daniel and Henrik have always made it clear that they like to finish his career in Modo and it does not take much longer.

- We have three years left on contract and just feels like three more years there. But you do not know, you're fit and healthy, you might want to run one or two more years. But children can not be how old any time before they move home either

To stay in Vancouver is not the intent.

- We get on incredibly well and every time we are where we think "this one would be able to live" but once you get home you will feel that it is not even a possibility. E-bay is a perfect place to live, says Daniel continues:

- It is unique for hockey players to live in. You can go up and down the street without anyone caring, sometimes to ask someone for an autograph or picture, but it's just fun. If you are out with the family show people respect and you have to be left alone.

A life of attention is nothing Daniel Sedin are seeking. But nothing he can opt out as one of the world's best player in hockey craziest cities available.

- It's part of being a hockey player, but not something you seek. You learn to deal with it when you have 20 journalists who want to ask questions after each workout. But you always wonder how Peter and Mark have it, if it is just as much now that they have laid off or if it has calmed down. But we must take time.

I don't see any reason to try to trade the twins. Of our Canucks with their jerseys retired, those in the hall of fame, and those in the ring of honour, how many have played their entire careers with the Canucks... just Smyl as far as I know. By 2017, the Sedins should be on top of the all-time leaderboards for the Canucks (I guess Hank has a long way to go to get to the goal-scoring lead). Let's remember that we have two special players here, and let them dictate the remainder of their careers (in other words, let them retire as Canucks).
